Tina's eyes widened. She realised how shocked she looked so she played a grin instead. This is such a mistake... she thought but stood up and raised her fists, mirroring him.
"And here I was thinking you were acting odd today. You are, you're gonna fight me now," she chuckled.
"What can I say? I warned you."
"You did indeed."
They walked towards each other. Then San did something Tina would never have been able to guess, he actually punched her, on the cheek. She flinched and stepped back, placing her hand on her injured cheek. She had never actually been in a fight before so this experience was completely new to her. And it wasn't enjoyable at all. She couldn't bring herself to hit him back, which was odd indeed. She saddened, she'd known San for a long time, sure as her enemy, but she never thought he would punch her. It hurt her more than she'd thought it would.
She decided to play defensive as he went in for another punch. She blocked it barely and sent him staggering. He punched her again, in the stomach this time. She groaned, clutching the damaged part. He went in again and she stopped him and got ready to punch him back, her mind now a swirling storm of fury.
Just then, the teacher walked in, dropping her books.
"Both of you to the headmaster's office! Now! And in here after school too! Absolutely unacceptable!" she shouted pointing at the door, "Everyone else sit down!"
She released his hands and gathered her stuff, leaving without him.
San stumbled backwards watching Tina leave the room. He grabbed his stuff and followed her. Tina wasn't like this. She never got angry as in furious. It was usually a playful angry. San cursed his father as he caught sight of her slumped body trudging down the corridor. He slowed down, knowing fully well that he was the last person she wanted to see. She later reached the headmaster's office and knocked on the door. San waited behind her leaning against the wall. He heard something like a scoff and a sigh mixed together from her just before the headmaster opened the door.
"Come in, I just got the email." he said .
They walked in. San sat on the chair but Tina was clearly trying to avoid him, ignoring the spare chair beside him and standing near the wall on the opposite side.
"Why were you fighting firstly?" the headmaster asked, looking at San.
Tina watched him too, her soft grey eyes bore into him.
"Why do you need to know?" he challenged instead.
"Because this young lady's seriously injured here, have you seen what you've done to her? Look at her face."
San couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to see what he'd done to Tina. What he did. All because he was acting weird.
He raised his eyes instead, to the headmaster who was looking at him expectantly.
"I said look at her."
San softly shook his head.
"Then I will tell you. Her cheek is red and her face is flushed, you must've also seriously damaged her stomach because she is clutching it and her eyes, must I go on?" the headmaster watched him closely.
San shook his head again. "No." he breathed.
The headmaster sighed, "If there was no reason I can only tell you not to go around punching people and to apologise later in your own time. I won't make you do it now, that'll mean nothing."
This headmaster was smart. He could read people. He should've been a therapist or something instead of wasting his time with their school.
"And you young lady, are not getting away with this. You were hitting him back. That is equally as bad as what he did. You should know better than to behave like a 5 year old. And both of you, I hear, have been at each other for a few years now? But this is the first fight? I suggest you stop, it'll make school easier, trust me."
Tina looked at the floor as the teacher scolded her, remaining silent. She felt too hurt to protest when he said she hit San, too injured to ask how he knew all this information. She sighed instead.
"Now both of you, sit next to each other and talk." the head instructed.
Her head shot up hearing that.
"Yes, I mean it go on young lady."
She groaned inwardly and plopped onto the chair offered, making no attempt to talk to San in any way at all. They stayed like that until the bell rang for home time.
Just as they were about to leave, the head said something, "And you, young man. I want to tell you one thing," he started before dismissing them, "You've hurt much more than her face and stomach, you've hurt the one thing that matters most to anyone, you've hurt her heart. Now go."
They left and walked next to each other back to class.
She walked to her desk and sunk down into her seat, burying her face in her arms. She felt like crying, which shocked her. Why was she crying? The bruises only hurt if she touched it and she tactfully avoided that, so why did she want to cry? The headmaster's words flashed through her mind. Had he really hurt her heart? But she didn't care about him so how did that work? It didn't matter as she heard the teacher shout, "You can both go now, but never let me see this ever again."
She sat up and walked out the class, body slumped and tears threatening to spill. She kept them in however, for the sake of her own dignity. She trudged home sadly, walking up to her room, throwing her stuff on the ground and laying on the bed, her head buried in her pillow. The tears poured down and soaked into the pillow as she sobbed quietly. After a while, she got a call from Lara. She wiped her face and answered it.
"Hello? T? You ok?" came the concerned voice.
"Yeah I'm fine" she sniffled.
"Were you crying? I swear I'm gonna go punch that smirking idiot so hard he- he- ugh" She shouted.
"Calm down Lara, seriously, I'm fine."
"If you say so... I was just gonna ask, you want some updates on prom?"
Lara was on the prom organising team so she was like Tina's secret eyes. She gave her updates on anything that was happening.
"Go on."
"Well, the theme is silver so wear something that colour and also the crowns are damn hideous so don't bother going all out. Oh and the headmaster said ok to alcohol for some reason! I don't know," she said quickly, "Anyways, yeah, my mum's calling me now bye!" She blurted before hanging up the phone.
Tina smiled and put her phone on her desk. Lara really was amazing.
Speaking of prom, she sat up and started to see if she had to go buy an outfit or not.
For the rest of the days, San and Tina had stopped fighting, but still didn't speak to each other.
(A/N) What's a school au without prom, alcohol and a drunk MC?
I might manage to publish it all in one day but I'll probably stop and not be bothered anymore so yeh.
