The twinkle in her eyes disappeared, replaced instead with a lingering sense of despair.

"I was drunk... I wasn't thinking straight..." she sighed as she looked back up to the painting, lakes of downheartedness gathering in her eyes. "Let's move on," she croaked.

She walked down the corridor and eventually found the stairs. She walked down them and into the downstairs hallway.

"What have I done now..." San breathed as he followed her.

When he eventually found her again, she was in the kitchen sitting at the table looking at the cupboard longingly.

He sighed, "Want to eat something?"

But why did he care? She could starve and he should be able to ignore her. But he couldn't. She nodded. He walked over to the cupboard and pulled out the pancake batter and a pan. He turned the cooker on and made breakfast for two. He finished after a minute and put them on two plates. He slid hers to her along with a fork and she dug in almost straight away.

After a plentiful breakfast, the two of them were sat in front of the tv. She had the remote in her hands and was staring at it confused.

"Why are there so many buttons?" she grumbled.

"It's a remote, duh." he answered.

"Shut up. I wasn't talking to you."

"Ok." he said and sat there watching her try to do something with the tv.

She threw it to him.

"That thing is broken! It doesn't work." she whined in the same voice as the day before about his hoodie which she still hadn't taken off.

"Sure it does." he said, shuffling through the channels finding something to watch. "Ooh look I found something."

"Isn't that a horror movie" she asked.

"Yeah...? And?" then he started grinning, "You're scared."

"No I'm not! I just wanted to know! Idiot." she answered quickly.

he laughed, "If you say so."

And with that the movie begun to play.

Tina clutched the cushion she grabbed tightly, sensing a jump-scare coming. She closed her eyes and heard San chuckle. She clenched her jaw and opened her eyes, not wanting to show any weakness. But then it came. And she yelped. And she grabbed the cushion for her life. And she shut her eyes tight. And she shrunk.

Just like the night before.

San paused the movie and she focused on breathing.

"Told you, you were scared." he said proudly.

She had calmed down a bit and was now just furious.

"And? is that a problem? If you knew then why did you still play it? Just as I thought you were getting nicer. I have had enough of you Choi San! I don't want to see your face ever again. You've thrown away anything we ever had or would've had!" she shouted before storming outside.

How dare he? She had just started to trust him, and he threw it away like that?! Heartless idiot. She walked straight to the first room she turned into which happened to be his but she didn't notice. She lay on the bed staring at the ceiling, hood up, eyes watering.

When San suddenly walked in she ignored him. Turning to face the wall and curling up instead.

"If you're mad at me, my room wasn't the best choice to sulk." he pointed out, shuffling through his wardrobe.

She clenched her jaw as her hands turned into fists.

"Hurry up, I'm taking you home." he said as he walked out.

She sat up.

"...Home...?" she echoed

She walked outside and saw him waiting.

"I just remembered, where's my dress?" she asked.

"In my hands." he said.

She looked and saw indeed it was there, looking as uncomfortable as a dress could look.

"Umm..." she started.

"What?"

"Can I... umm..."

"Go on..."

"Can I keep it?" she blurted.

His eyes widened for a second before he lowered them and grinned.

"Sure," he said.

"Thanks, lets go..." she said.

She put on her heels, instantly regretting not taking an alternative to prom, and followed him outside and to his car. The drive was quiet, awkwardness hung in the air.

"I'm sorry." San suddenly said.

Tina's head whipped around.

"For making you watch the movie." he clarified.

"It's okay..." was all she managed to say.

"Let's start over?" he said

"Ok." she answered.

"I'm San, I have a dad but my mother was killed, umm, my dad doesn't really care about anything but work... he has no time for me... so yeah. That's my life. Your turn."

"Ok... I'm Tina... I have both of my parents but neither of them care about me... they tell me I'm a mistake and that I'll never get anywhere in life" her eyes pooled but she kept on going, "They scream at me for the littlest thing and I'm probably gonna get beaten for not getting home on time which is probably the reason I wouldn't go yesterday apparently... but yeah... that's my life." she wiped her tears, relieved to be able to tell someone. Even if it was the person she hated most.

"-but yeah... that's my life."

San glanced at Tina, finally understanding her. He felt a pang of sympathy as they pulled up outside her house. He was speechless. Here he was thinking his dad was the worst when Tina had two horrible parents. He didn't know what to do, should he leave her with her abusive parents? Should he take her back to his house? But his father would kill him. But his father was gone for a month and a half. He'd never know...

"Do you... wanna stay with me...?" he eventually managed to say shyly.
