She was startled by the sound of her door opening and closing. She quickly put the photo back and turned to see San standing there. She turned back around and started rearranging her desk.
"Everything ok?" he asked breaking the silence that hung in the air like a stench.
She didn't answer, ignoring him.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
She still didn't answer but what he did next definitely shocked her.
He grabbed her shoulder and turned her around, making her look at him. She accidently caught his stare and found that she couldn't pull herself away.
"Just tell me." he pleaded.
"You." she muttered.
"What have I done?" he genuinely asked.
She decided to let it out, she couldn't hold it in anymore.
"You don't talk anymore you just do 'homework' I do my homework too and I always have time to spend time with you but now you act like I'm not even there! I'm bored. And lonely." She managed to say, looking directly into his dark eyes, searching for the reaction.
"It's not that..." he said.
He groaned and released her, running his hands through his hair, exasperated.
"It's... something else."
"I don't care what it is, I want it to stop, at least a little."
"Alright then." he said. "I'll fail my classes to spend time with you." he joked.
"If you weren't so stupid you wouldn't fail." she shrugged.
"You are gonna regret that." he grinned, grabbing a pillow.
"It is on." she challenged grabbing another and then a war started.
Pillows were flying all over the place, shrieks and yells were filling the room. A war. Eventually, she retreated into his room, closing the door and barricading it with - you guessed it - more pillows. When he didn't chase after her she opened the door carefully and crept back to see what he was doing. He was looking at her display. She snuck up on him and whacked him on the head. He jumped and turned to her. A playful fire in his eyes.
He jumped onto her, knocking her onto the bed. She grabbed another pillow and whacked him repeatedly. Still standing, he ran to his room and she followed. This was the most fun she'd had in weeks.
After a while they were knocked out. He was sat against his bad and she was on the bed. she sat up and caught her breath before standing up and heading to the kitchen. She made pasta while he fell asleep on the table. She nudged him awake, a steaming plate of pasta before him. He rubbed his eyes, letting them adjust before starting to eat. She joined him and they regained their energy slightly. After eating they went to the sofa.
"I was thinking of cutting my hair." she said.
"Go for it."
"And re-dying it. But what colour."
"You should do red." he joked.
"Or maybe you should dye your hair again."
"Me? But I like this look."
"No look, I've been looking at your hair for years and I know exactly what you need to do with it." she said, seriously.
"Go on,"
"You just go to the shop and ask to dye your grey. Don't cut it too much but like don't worry I'll be there to sort it out. Trust me, you'll look amazing."
"If you say so..."
"Tomorrow." she said.
After a bit more talking they got up and went to bed.
The next day San woke up and went to school. The crowd slowly shrunk until it was manageable. He walked into class and sat at his seat, glancing at Tina every now and then. At lunch, one of his friends - Choi Jongho - decided to chime in to the news.
"I heard you're not Tina's worst enemy anymore," he said casually.
San didn't answer to this.
"Don't you know?" Another friend - Yeosang - said. "They're in love."
Jongho chuckled, "Is that so Sannie?" he mocked, "You got yourself a girlfriend before Yunho?"
San flared red with embarrassment - or was that anger?
"Shut up!" he exclaimed.
"Heh, maybe not yet, but he's in love." Mingi said.
"You guys are literally no help at all." he groaned.
After lunch, the day dragged on until home time. When the two of them got back, Tina ran up to get changed and he did too. He pulled on a black t shirt and jeans and slipped on a jacket. Then he walked downstairs after saying goodbye to his beautiful black and red hair.
They drove to the barbers and she explained what she wanted to him.
"Your girlfriend knows what a good hairstyle is." he said as he started chopping away.
After the process, San looked in the mirror and he had to admit, it didn't look bad. It was beautiful. They paid the barber and walked out.
"It's nice." he said in the car.
"I know it is, I planned it for years." she answered.
He smiled thinking about how she thought about him even before the night she was stuck living with him.
When they got back, he walked into the kitchen to start preparing the dinner. He warmed up the pasta from the previous night and put it into two bowls before sticking a fork in and walking over to the living room sofa. Tina was sitting, her eyes glued to the screen. He watched her for a while, admiring her you could say. Her gorgeous grey orbs, her naturally hued cheeks, her little round nose and her soft lips, parted slightly as she watched the TV. Then she turned to him, Her soft grey eyes flicking between his.
"Uh," he cleared his throat, "I got dinner."
She held out her arms, one held open and the other beckoning him over, to sit next to her. And so he did. She took the bowl gratefully before starting to eat. After they'd finished she went to take the bowls and San was left alone to watch the screen instead. When she came back, she sat back down, visibly closer to him. Their thighs practically touching, brushing against each other ever so slightly but the jolt still ran through him, pumping through his blood. Thankfully, she didn't go any further than that.
