The next few days were spent completely avoiding each other, it hurt San that he couldn't talk to Tina the same as before, until one day when she approached him.

Tina knocked on the door of San's room before walking in.

She went and lay down on the bed on the opposite side of the pillow, where he was laying.

"Need something?" he asked.

"I'm bored San." she complained.

And she was. The past few days had been torture for her. San was someone who was - quite literally - always there for her. And she had to let go all of a sudden? Impossible.

"Well, find something to do then." he replied, somewhat bitterly.

She blinked, looking at him, completely shocked. Did he really just say that... like that?!

"But... I wanna do something... together..." she mumbled.

He sat up and looked at her putting his phone down.

"I know, I do too. But we can't, you know that." he answered, his tone a lot softer.

"Yeah but-"

"There are no buts. It's a fact, an unquestionable one at that." he snapped.

She flinched, "Fine." she growled, "Have it your way."

She stormed out the room, furious and hot-headed. If he wanted it like that, fine! He could have it like that! But a part of her was hurt deeper than ever before. Deeper than when he punched her, deeper than when he pranked her, just really... deep. She curled up on the bed, holding herself. She'd only felt it three times but she was missing his embrace, the lot of it. The warmth, the comfort, the smell, the reassurance, the safety. She missed it all.

San only realised what happened after she left. He didn't mean to snap at her, he couldn't control himself. He wanted to be with her so badly, but he couldn't. He felt even more angry now, at himself. He wanted to go apologise but he couldn't. He knew he hurt her and that he wasn't exactly the person she wanted to see, so he had to wait it out. He sat down and decided instead, what he would get for her birthday which was coming up. He wanted it to be special, as an apology for everything he'd done in the past. But what would be good enough.

He spent hours thinking until he heard a knock on the door again. He jumped up, shoving the papers in his bedside table before yelling, "Come in!"

Tina waddled in with a small plate of food. She put it on his table and started heading out.

"Wait." he said quickly, before she could leave.

She stopped and turned to face him.

"I-I'm sorry."

She stared at him, waiting for him to go on.

"I'm sorry for going off on you earlier, I don't know what came over me. Honestly Tina. I'm sorry." he said earnestly.

She nodded, "It's ok." she croaked.

It was obvious she was feeling uncomfortable so he threw her a shirt.

"Get ready, time for the zoo." he said.

Her mouth stretched into a smile as she nodded. She practically ran out and was at the door waiting for him. The shirt was huge on her, it was big on him too but it was like a mini-dress on her. She matched it with jeans and white trainers, her outfit completed by her eyes, the way they sparkled gave it a whole new look somehow. He tore his gaze away from her.

"S-should we go?" he suggested.

She nodded and skipped out the house like a little girl. He smiled and followed, making sure to lock the door before leaving.

They walked in and paid before going to see the animals. Tina was obviously ahead, marvelling at the smallest things.

"San, they have animal-bins!" she cried, grabbing his arm.

He chuckled and pulled her along to his personal favourite, the tigers. She pressed her face to the glass as she watched them eagerly.

"San! Look! Look! There's baby ones over there!" she squealed.

San looked over and saw what she was talking about, two cubs play-fighting beside their mother. He looked back at her, how she watched them with such adoration. It was cute. She was cute.

"Come on there are more animals you know?" he said, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the next enclosure.

And like that they went through the whole zoo until it was closing time.

When they got back she went up to her room and placed all her souvenirs on the table.

Meanwhile San got to making dinner. The two of them ate talking about their day before going to their rooms to sleep.

When Tina woke up she saw that she had a missed call from Lara.
