The next day the two of them woke up and started getting ready for school. He noticed Tina was dressing more fancy for Seonghwa and as much as he wanted to stop her, he had to stop himself.
On the way, they started planning.
"What are we gonna do? We can't just waltz into school acting as if we're calm now!" he pointed out.
"You're right, so I will continue to hate you and you will continue to hate me, we won't go in or leave together, we'll have a meet up point where we will go home from and yeah, everything else we'll have to improvise." she smiled, waiting for him to walk in before following.
This would be very hard. He didn't feel like annoying her, he felt like being casual with her, they had started over after all. But he had to act. Great.
They walked into the classroom and sat in their seats. They overall avoided eye contact but they caught each other's gaze every once in a while.
After school, he drove back alone. He never noticed how lonely he was until he had company and then lost it. He sat around not doing much, eating snacks and going on his phone really.
When Tina called him he jumped up and was out the door in seconds. He drove to the address she told him and saw her indeed there waiting in the cold bitter evening. She jumped into the car as he turned the heating on, grateful for the lift and the warmth.
"Gentleman Seonghwa not leave you his jacket?" San asked.
"He kissed me San! Without my consent!"
San was slightly guilty of that too but he kinda got consent... like, she kissed back... that counts as consent right?
"Really?" he played surprised.
She nodded, pouting and crossing her arms.
"What else did he do?"
"He left me! And then he made me pay!"
He chuckled, taking note that if they ever went out for dinner to pay.
"It's not funny! I'm mad at him now."
"Why are you so mad? It was just a kiss" he shrugged.
"It wasn't 'JuSt A kIsS'" she mocked.
"Then what was it?"
"It was my first..." she admitted.
San's eyes widened. She didn't know about the kiss they shared when she was drunk that night. And the only other kiss she'd had was with Seonghwa today. Meaning her actual first kiss was him...
"That's the reaction I expected." she said, seeing his face.
"Wow... yeah... t-that's really bad..." he stammered.
The remaining time spent in the car was silence.
When they got back, she got out the car and went to sulk in his room. And for once, she wasn't mad at him, but then he couldn't do anything to make her happy again. He went up to her and decided to at least try.
"Do you wanna eat out tonight? Or order in? Or cook?"
"I can't be bothered let's just go out." she said, muffled by her arm which she stuck in front of her face.
"Ok get ready. And wear something else, you've been wearing that hoodie for three days."
"But I like it..."
"You could've bought one for yourself the other day."
"I didn't want one then."
"Well, you can pick another hoodie and throw that in the wash then."
"Really?"
"Sure why not?"
"Thanks, get out now."
"You're welcome."
Then he left the room feeling proud of himself. If there was one thing he learnt, it was that Tina didn't get happy easily. And he made her happy. With dinner and a hoodie.
When she came down, she was wearing the wolf one he offered to her on the night she first came over. It looked cute on her.
"Ready?"
She nodded, "Let's go. Oh and you're paying so bring your money."
"I know." he said.
They drove to a restaurant nearby and he led her in.
Tina looked around the grand restaurant. It was huge, stretching as far as her eyes could see. There were lights illuminating it with a soft glow. It wasn't too full either.
"Go pick a table." San said.
She nodded and searched the restaurant for a vacant table that would suit her standards. She found one by the window that looked over the city.
"That one." she pointed.
They walked over and sat down. She gazed out the window and admired the lights in the darkness of the night.
"What d'you wanna eat?"
They ordered and ate in the comfortable silences that usually happened between the two of them. After she finished, she looked out the window again.
"Thank you, San." she said softly.
"Oh uh, you're welcome."
"I mean it. Thanks. You nearly made up for the stolen kiss."
"What do you mean nearly?"
"I mean I still want something from you that'll make up for the stolen kiss and i'll move on." she explained, looking him in the eye.
"What do you want?"
"Permission to wear whichever one of your hoodies I wanna." she smirked.
"...Fine." he groaned. "Except one."
"Which one?"
"The one you got for me. That one's off limits."
"Sure."
"Happy now?"
"Uh huh." she nodded.
"Good now let's go."
And they left the restaurant and drove back.
She went into his room and started looking through his hoodies classing each one for a different occasion.
"That one for outings like today, this one for bed, this one for bed too, this one for house wearing, that one for a meeting with Lara, those ones all for school and done." she smiled.
Then she got ready for bed and slipped in to the welcoming covers.
The next few days were spent focusing on hating each other in front of everyone else. That was, until Seonghwa's birthday. And she was personally invited.
"I don't wanna go!" she wailed to San the day after.
"But you have to, you were invited, Seonghwa has his way. Besides, I have to go too so yeah."
"I don't wanna," she protested.
"I'll be there too, and I don't have an excuse not to go. Don't leave me there."
She sighed, "Fine I'll go, but I'm not getting all dressed up." she gave in.
"Fine by me."
Andthen the fateful day of the party arrived.
