When Tina woke up the next morning, she had a painful hangover. She buried her face in the pillow and groaned clutching her stomach. She rolled around before sitting up and letting the dizziness fade away a bit. That was when she realised, she wasn't home. She looked around, taking in the room. It was large, too large to be hers
She eventually stood up and stepped outside. The corridor was long and white and spacious. It was not the ones hired or the ones in her house, or even Lara's house, so where was she? She decided to sneak around. Not smart in her condition but she didn't care. She needed to find out where she was and how she got there.
She opened doors silently, looking to see anyone. Half the rooms were empty, one was locked - the most grand - and then she found one with a sleeping figure on the bed. She crept in, closing the door, and snuck towards the bed silently. Well, silently until her legs gave way. She collapsed with a slight hiss and a loud thud as her leg rammed into her still aching stomach. The figure in the bed groaned and turned around to reveal a very familiar head of black and red hair.
"...San?" she tried.
He hummed in reply. Now she was certain it was San.
"What the hell am I doing here?!" she shouted.
"Shhh, shut up! You're gonna wake my dad!" he whisper-yelled.
"That doesn't answer my question," she said, her voice lowered slightly.
He sighed as if he were struggling to put it in words. "I, you... You were drunk." he eventually managed to spit out.
"And...?"
"And you wouldn't go into your house when I took you there, you were like, crying. So I brought you here." he said calmly, finding the story much easier to say now.
That made sense. But...
"Why did you try to take me home? You should've just left me."
"I know" he chuckled, rubbing his eye.
"All right so lemme get this straight: I was drunk so you took me to my house and I started crying saying I didn't wanna go in so you took me to your house instead and I fell asleep? That was it?"
"Well no, there was the whole effort of getting that on you." he said, motioning to the hoodie she was wearing.
She yelped, she was wearing his hoodie?! ...But it was comfy... and warm... and it smelt nice.. and- she pinched herself.
"Great. But now I need to go-"
There was the sound of a door opening and closing and footsteps heading towards the room.
"Hide." he whispered, standing up and motioning her under the covers.
She jumped under and flattened herself, trying to make herself as invisible as possible. It was warmer under the covers, a nice warm. And it smelt more like the hoodie. She relaxed her tense body and let her breathing get calmer.
"You're up, good. I'll be on a business flight for a month and a half, you have the whole house to yourself. Do not let anyone throw a party while I'm gone." a voice said, muffled by the covers.
"Yes Father," came San's reply.
Then he left, leaving San and her in the room again.
"You can come out now." he said.
She sat up, now wrapped in the covers.
"Was that your dad?" she asked.
"Yup," he scanned the floor embarrassed.
"Cool, your dad talks to you, does everyone's dad do that? Or is yours just incredibly nice? What's his name? Does he spend time with you? Does he own this house? How-"
"Enough! My dad is the worst dad you could ever have and you aren't helping me accept that!" he shouted.
She blinked. "Ok..." she said quietly. "I'm going to explore."
And then she just left the room.
San groaned as she walked down the corridor.
"She's gonna get lost in here..." he muttered to himself, contemplating whether he should follow or not.
He sighed, messing his hair up before running after her. She was stood in front of a picture of him and his parents. Her eyes sparkled in the way they did last night. He stopped next to her. She seemed mesmerised, staring at the picture, not even noticing his presence. He cleared his throat. Her head whipped towards him.
"Oh.. uh hi? Who's she?" she asked, her head turning back to the picture, her eyes never losing their twinkle.
"She's um," he cleared his throat again, "My mother."
"She looks more like you."
"I know... Um, Tina I have a question..."
"yeah?" she asked, tearing her eyes away from the picture to him.
"Umm... Why wouldn't you go into your house yesterday?"
(A/N) Once again, don't have any clue as to what I'm doing. Hehe.
