THOMAS POV:

"You'll get your name back in a day or two. It's the one thing they let us keep" said Alby. I was confused. "What is this place" I asked. Alby smiled and held out his hand. "Let me show you" said Alby. I took his hand and he pulled me out of the pit. We started the tour. "We eat here, sleep here. We grow our own food, and build our own shelter" said Alby as he pointed to stuff. He turned to me as he walked. "Whatever we need, the box provides. The rest is up to us" said Alby. We stopped walking. "The box" I asked looking at it. There was two boys going threw the stuff. "Ya, they send it once a month with fresh supplies and a new greenie. This month that's you. Congratulations" said Alby. "Sent up, by who though? Who put us here" I asked. "That we don't know" said Alby. I wonder if anyone knows anything about the creatures and their past. "Hey you alright Alby" asked a voice. A man walked up to us. "Greenbean meet Newt" said Alby. "Hey" said Newt as we shook hands.

"When I'm not around he's in charge" said Alby. "Good thing you're always around then" Newt joked. We stopped shaking hands. "Listen that was some dash you made earlier. And for a second I thought you had the chops to be a runner. Till you face planted. That was great" said Newt. Him and Alby chuckled. I was confused. "Wait runner" I asked. "Hey, do me a favor. Go find Chuck" said Alby. "Alright" said Newt. He started leaving. I didn't want Newt to leave. He's cute. Wait, am I gay? "Look I'm sorry to rush this. Box came up a little late and we have a lot to do. We got something special planned tonight" said Alby as we started walking. I looked back at Newt. Newt looked back at me and smiled. He was so hot and dreamy. I think I love him. No, I do love him. I am gay. Which reminds me, where are the girls? Are there any here. "You'll see" said Alby. We walked to a tree fort and Alby started to climb the ladder. "Hope you're not afraid of heights" said Alby looked down at me. He started climbing again.

"Come on, let's go" said Alby. I followed Alby up the tree fort. "I could see almost the entire place. It was so huge. "This is all we got. We worked hard for it. You respect this place and you and I will get along just fine" said Alby. "What's out there" I asked pointing to the opening in the walls. It looks like the exit. Why is no one going out there though? I mean it must be more space out there and we can leave and go home. So why not go out there? Alby looked at where I was pointing. He put his hands on the rail. "We only have three rules. Rule one, do your part. No time for any free loaders. Second never harm another glader. None of this works unless we have trust. And most importantly, never go beyond those walls. Do you understand me greenie" asked Alby. I said nothing. That didn't answer my question. Why can't I go beyond the walls? What's out there? Is it Dairy Queen or something but we aren't allowed to have ice cream? Wait what is Dairy Queen? "HEY ALBY" a voice yelled. I followed Alby to the other edge and looked down. A boy waved up at us. "Hey Chuck, where you been man" said Alby.
