For the next few days, Alex's life was quiet. She stayed on the down low ever since that night that Barry had found her at the racing grounds. The whole next day was spent trying to get that stupid tracker off, but everything that she attempted only caused pain. Even with barely touching the thing, it sent a wave of pain up her entire arm. It was like her bones were crunching together and the muscles were expanding to the point that she thought they would snap.
Cisco had done a good job with the thing, and she had searched through all of his knowledge to find out how to take it off, but the only thing she got from it was a key and he didn't even know where it was. Alex was left with a dead end on how to get it off.
Wally left the night of his race and the apartment she stayed at was silent. A whole day was spent cleaning it, at least after a few days of trying to convince herself to actually do it. Her phone was plugged into a speaker that blasted music through the whole place and earned her a few complaints from the neighbours. After the second person arriving at her door, she finally switched over to her headphones.
The place she stayed at was actually quite nice. There were two bedrooms, although the second one was quite a bit smaller. It didn't matter thought because Wally was the only one that stayed there, in fact he had left several of his things there. A bathroom was placed across the hall from her room, it wasn't large but it was the right size for her.
The kitchen was a decent size with stainless steel appliances and a beautiful counter top. There was no dining room, but Alex would never use it even if she had one. The only place she ate was the breakfast nook on the counter. The living room had a brick wall on the northern side, the same side as her TV that she rarely used (usually Netflix when she did). A leather chair and matching couch faced the screen. There were large windows in her room, as well as in the kitchen.
Alexandra felt quite pleased with herself after she finished cleaning it all. Later that evening when it was dark out, she went out on a walk, she needed the fresh air free being inside all day. It was pitch black out and the only thing illumination the streets were the moon and the dim lights that she walked under. It was cold and Alex was dressed in several layers while her hands were shoved in her coat pockets.
There was a lot on her mind. Wally and his mom was the closest thing she had to a family in years, even though that she rarely visited. But, Mrs. West was always happy to see Alex when she showed up at her front door. She didn't know that it was Alex who got her son into racing, and if she did then it would be a completely different ball game. But she was sick, very sick and Wally had trouble seeing her like that. He hated to see his mother and only family member left in pain.
Dr. Wells was another topic that she was puzzled on. It was obvious that he disliked her, but she didn't know if it was due to her stealing and acquiring all of Barry's powers and past or her own past. But every time that she was near him, Alex could feel the anger that rolled off of him. Catlin and Cisco were at least polite to her, but they too held something against her.
It seemed that everyone had something against her, and for the most part she could understand why. Alex Holt turned for the worst and she lost the last bit of her past when she quit college. Her brother hated her and she hated herself for letting that happen, but there was nothing she could do. Sometimes it was better that he was gone and it was better that she pushed him away. Unfortunately she pushed him too far and he fell over the edge.
Lastly there was Barry, the scientist that was one year younger than her and held a lot more energy and potential for the future. She didn't hate him, but she most certainly detested him. Not for saving people, no she could respect that he risked himself for others – even though she believed putting her life on the line for a stranger was stupid. Alex detested Barry because he was naïve.
