"And where were you all last night?"
Alex walked into the cortex with a slight grin on her lips. She had an excellent night out and wasn't planning on sharing what had went down. Dick Grayson had dropped in to Central City on business (Bat Business) and stopped to see Alex.
She had been racing again that night. The place was packed with people, almost all of them stumbling around drunk off their asses. Alex was the second race of the night against one of the only other female racers. The blonde was towered over by the black haired brute and was honestly a little intimidated by her.
In the end she had won her race and continued her streak of victories. It had been nearly a year and a half since Alex had lost a race, and she didn't plan to break that record anytime soon. She couldn't lose, the money was the only thing that was paying her bills. It was her pay cheque at the end of each month essentially.
Alexandra was shocked to see Dick there, his shiny black hair was combed back. Not to mention his fancy leather jacket stood out compared to all the raggedy ones. She offered him a drive around town, which he gladly accepted. After a cup of coffee and some sightseeing they had ended up back at her apartment.
He had stayed the night in the spare room. Surprisingly, nothing happened. She could predict a great friendship between the two of them for a long time in their dangerous lives.
"Out," Alex answered vaguely. Barry watched her curiously. She didn't want to tell them about Dick, not in fear that they would judge but the less amount of people that knew they were friends the better. No one needed to find out that he worked with Batman, or that Batman even existed. As far as they knew, he was only a myth.
"We could have used your help last night, there were a bunch of robberies."
"You had it covered, didn't you?" Dick left late the next morning. Alex told him if he needed help with any of his cases, he could give her a call and she would speed over. He said he would do the same. He had kissed her right before leaving her apartment, she was taken aback for a moment before recomposing herself.
"Death by apitoxin. Honeybee venom," Caitlin announced, quickly changing the subject. They had a new case they were working on; a professor at the university had been stung to death by bees. Alex shivered at the thought, she hated bees more than a lot of other things she faced.
"Bees, why did it have to be bees? Y'all I don't do bees. Ain't nobody got time for bees," Cisco drawled. Alex nodded her head in agreement. Wasps were one thing, but when Honey bees started attacking people? That was when she was ready to call it quits.
"But when a honeybee stings, the stingers are literally torn from their abdomen and they die," Wells educated the younger ones around him.
"Good, they deserve it," Alex scoffed, crossing her arms. She avoided looking at Wells and instead looked at a frantic Cisco. If there was one thing that they had in common, it was their mutual hate towards bees.
"A honey bee can only deposit .1 milligrams of apitoxin when it releases its stinger. And yet, Ms. Kang was found with enough venom in her system to kill a heard of elephants. It appears not only is a metahuman controlling these bees, but also increasing their toxicity," Wells continued. Alex watched Barry eye him up as he was faced the other way.
"Anyone one join me in getting a beekeeper suit?" Cisco asked. Alex raised her arm up, Barry chuckled at her.
"I'm pretty sure we can out run a bee," he stated, looking over at her. She was hiding something, but he wasn't going to nag her about it. Often times she liked to keep her personal life hidden from the team. He didn't judge her for it, but he always remained curious on what she did outside of her life as Mirage.
