Alex enjoyed being up on the roof. She loved watching the sky, it calmed her. It wasn't the same as the overpass in Central City, but the view was beautiful all the same. And this time she had someone to share the peace and tranquility with. They must have been up there for close to an hour after the official start of the New Year.

But that was quickly ruined and Alex was pissed.

There was a loud bang from the house, loud enough that it over powered the music. Alex was all too familiar with the noise. Dick was as well, but she didn't need to know that; as far as he knew she was just an innocent civilian. However, he couldn't be more wrong.

The perfect moment that they had, a moment that Alex could get used to, was ruined. As soon as that gun shot went off, Dick scrambled up and ushered for her to stay exactly where she was. Alex wasn't going to have that; not while Wally was in there. She cursed as she jumped off the roof, she didn't want to have to wear her suit on her trip but with the screams coming from inside she knew she had to.

Dick Grayson ran off and she was quite concerned about where he went. Did he run into the house to try and be some hero? Was he really that naïve? No, she couldn't think like that, not when she didn't even know the guy. Not when the guy she did love was in that house completely defenseless and scared.

Alex ran to her car and somehow managed to change into her suit in a matter of seconds. She quickly threw her hair up in an extremely messy ponytail as she ran towards the house and shoved her goggles on. She just prayed that Wally, or even Dick wouldn't recognize her with the remaining bits of her face that could be seen.

There was a guy standing with a gun in his hand and pointing it wildly at the kids that cowered on the ground. Most of them cried as they held the closet person next to them. All those kids were never in a situation like that, and Alex secretly hoped that they would never have to be in one like that.

Her eyes searched wildly over the crowd to find her friend but with no avail. Maybe he got out, or was somewhere safe. Or maybe he was the unlucky guy that got shot. She really hoped that it was the first one. Alexandra would never forgive herself if Wally got killed at a party and she wasn't there to help.

"Hey, Asshole!" Alex caught the guy's attention. He was wearing a stupid ski mask that hid his face, but she could see a small tuft of brown hair stick out of the bottom. "Why don't we let these kids go?"

"Who the hell are you?" He snapped. She kind of felt ridiculous standing there in that costume for a couple seconds. But just the same of feeling ridiculous, she also felt seemingly content and proud. She didn't have time to think about that any longer as the man in front of her pointed the gun to the kids around her.

"I'm anybody you want me to be," Alex told him. She shifted into several different random people before landing on The Flash. With the new speed she ran and slammed into the guy. He fell to the ground but was quick to retaliate and shot several bullets at her. Time was slowed, or more so she was quick, and she easily caught all the bullets and dropped them onto the ground.

Alex changed back into herself. "Come on did you really think that would work?" The guy raised the gun again, but she kicked it out of his hand, and stomped down on his fingers. "Come on man, really?"

She picked up the gun and took the clip out. "Now why th – Who the hell are you?" Alex cut herself off. There was a guy standing in front of her, He was in a suit of his own – all black with the exception of a blue bird on his chest. A mask covered his eyes and a strand of black hair was caught under it.

The guy with the Ski mask tried to sit up, but she kneed him in the temple and he went down again. The bird guy didn't say anything but stared at her. "Look, just find whoever got hurt and stay out of my way, got it?"
