There was a break in at Dr. Wells' house. Well, not necessarily a break in, the windows were shattered but he was left unscathed. According to him, it was a foolish prank, but Alex felt as if there was something more to it than that. He was keeping something to himself, and she was determined to figure out what it was.
She didn't bother going to crime scene, cops scattered the place and she didn't need another turn in of events with them, the night before was enough. Supper actually went quite smoothly after the beginning tension. Barry had a smile on his face the whole time Alex and Joe chatted. Barry warned his adoptive father before the meal not to bring up her parents. Neither of them knew much but they didn't need another event of screaming and yelling.
So instead, he brought up cars. Alex loved talking about her baby, even if what she used it for was illegal and it was a cop she was talking to. But Joe seemed genuinely interested as she talked about every little detail that made it perfect. She left out a few things that she knew would automatically get her in trouble, but he didn't need to know that.
After supper, and a bottle of wine later, they shuffled over to the living room and stayed up late laughing away. Alex thought about why she was so resistant to go over, because she was having a great night. No doubt she wasn't going to hear the end of it from Barry.
Barry texted her that they were all at Well's house, and the details on how to get there, but she told him that she would meet him in his lab when they were finished there. She had a late night at the West house hold, and then even after that drove around town for another hour. She loved the empty streets at night which resulted in only getting home past three in the morning.
Another reason she didn't want to go to Wells' house, was she wanted to catch up on another hour of sleep. The only reason she woke up in the first place was because her phone was blowing up with texts from Barry about the whole incident. She fell back asleep pretty quickly.
The next time she woke up was to the song of 'I Want it That Way' by Backstreet Boys, Barry set that as his ring tone one time while they were chilling in the cortex after training. She didn't even see him do it, but never had the energy to change it to something else. So it stayed that way and she glared every time he called.
Alex sluggishly answered the call with a weak 'hello'. "I'm back at my lab now and I need you to bring some glasses."
That's all he said, she couldn't even get a word in before he hung up. Alexandra rolled her eyes and rolled out of bed. She quickly brushed out the knots in her hair and threw on a random shirt and a pair of jeans that were on the floor. Instead of running there, she decided to take her car. Alex looked around to make sure no one was watching her before she turned invisible.
The precinct was full of people which made it hard for her to weave her way through the crowd without bumping into anyone. Thankfully, she made it up to Barry's lab without running into someone or dropping the two wine glasses in her hand. Barry was bent over some sort of machine, using his speed to rush around and make final details on it.
"Boo," Alex whispered in his ear, still invisible. He jumped up, and tripped over something on the floor. Barry glared at the empty space, which was the opposite way she stood. When he realized it was Alex in the room, his eyes little up with a mischievous look.
"Marco."
"Polo," Alex grinned. In a blink he was in front of her and had a hold onto her arm. "You're grabbing my boob."
He immediately let go and constantly apologized to where he assumed she stood. "I'm kidding, Barry. Anyway, why'd you need these?" she held up the two glasses in her hand, and turned back to her visible self.
