Part 16: safe in your arms

'What just happened?' I asked, still in shock of what had just happened. 'I...uhm...we kissed.' Jack said, also in shock. All of a sudden, we heard the door of Jack's house shut. 'Shit, that's my mom. If she finds out we're still up, we are in DEEP shit.' Jack said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his room. 'Quick, we gotta pretend we're asleep.' Jack quickly jumped in bed and put the blanket over himself. 'Finn? Are you coming?' He asked, stressing. 'I...I still have my shoes on.' I said, scared. 'Fuck that. Just get in quick!' He said, moving his arms in the air. I hesitated, before I jumped in beside him. 'Can you turn off the light? The switch is next to you.' He asked, pointing at the light switch. I quickly switched the light off and pulled the blanked up to my nose. 'She's coming.' Jack whispered. I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to sleep. Not very long after, we heard a knock on the door. 'Jack, hunny. Are you awake?' I heard Jack's mother say. We both stayed as quiet as a mouse, and after a while we heard Jack's mother's footsteps fade away. 'That was a close one!' Jack said. 'Y...yeah.' I said, still in disbelief of what had happened in the last couple of minutes. I heard my phone buzz, which still laid on the floor. I quickly got up and turned the phone off, before getting back to in bed with Jack. 'It will be ok Finn. Your parents will figure everything out, and you're welcome for as long as you want.' Jack said, as he played with my hair. 'Thanks, Jack.' I whispered, becoming tired. Jack put his arm around me and I think we laid there like that for a good hour, until we both drifted off to sleep.
