Daniel's P.O.V.
I watch him as he steps up on the podium to make his declaration.
The scene brings foul memories to my mind, but I choose to trust in his ability to convince people that this is the change we need. I need to trust him. I need to believe in him.
He looks galant in his royal garments, he truly seems as if brought to life from the pages of a storybook. I would be happy to admire him from afar, but being with him has shown me a kindness I never thought any royal would be capable of.
I am proud to be his.
In secret. In hopes. In dreams.
Any way I would be proud. But I am more than proud now that he will allow the entire Kingdom to freely love in the way we do.
He said freedom will soon find us, and I believe him.
Our day is finally here.
Because he brought it, our day is here."The last time I greeted you as your King, my love was taken from me and I was named as a mad man. But I still choose to face you once again.
I choose to believe in you again.
I believe in you as my people.
I believe in a better tommorow.
I believe that we as a nation may change our ways in the name of love.
And I, King Joseph Michael, First of My Name, still believe I am the one who can bring that change upon us. As I stated in my last declaration, change is difficult.
But there are changes we need in our world.
Love is love, no matter if the person you love is a man or a woman.
I know that there is no one in this world that could bring me such happiness as Daniel Preda has. He is the love of my life, and he will be no matter what you may think of me.
The last time, I was naive regarding the political repercussions of my declaration.
But this time I have taken the time to discuss solutions with the lords in order to secure the safety of our Kingdom's future.
Our future is properous, but we need to find the courage to take the first step into that future.
Let us gaze onto a new morning together, for it will make our life brighter.
I, once again, make this declaration of love.
And I beg for you to respect my wish to not have a Queen, but to have Daniel Preda as my Prince. Please say I, if you second my motion to change the law so that any man or woman are free to love whomever they may love.
Please trust in me, and we will enter into that new tommorow." Joey finishes his declaration and stares onto the crowd, visably nervous for what is to come.I wait for another outrage, but there are no protests this time around. Instead, one by one, almost every lord, lady, or kingdom official rise up and clearly state "I", seconding his motion.
I stare with tears in my eyes as applause roars through the courtyard and Joey smiles brighter than ever, knowing that he has actually won.
He did it.
He actually did it.He changed the world for us.
He found a way, just like he said he would in the very beginning.
We were finally free to share our love with the world.
Freedom found us, just like he said it would. As he steps down from the podium, I run to him. Overcome with joy, I wrap my arms around him and kiss him deeply as tears run down my eyes.
He kisses me back softly, all our worries slowly dissappearing. Our hopes and dreams all that remain as we break apart.
"You won." I say, still finding it hard to believe.
"I swore to you that we would win this time. I could not let myself let you down once again." He answers me. I shake my head at his statement.
"You never have, nor can you ever, let me down." I state as I stare deeply into his eyes.
"I love you, and I cannot believe that you shall finally officially become my Prince." He says lovingly.
"I love you too. You are my King, my love, and my hero. You fought so hard for us, and now our dreams will finally be realised." I say as I pull him in a tighter embrace.
"Our story is only beginning, Daniel." He replies as he kisses my cheek.
"Yes Joey, our story is only beginning."I think back to before I met Joey.
Back to when I had given up on the miracles of life.
Back to when I didn't even dare to dream.
I never asked for the moon, 'cause I thought wishing was hopeless.
And when I met him I thought I would forever be loving him in the shadows of the crowds.
For me, someday was a story, and the one I was sticking to.But now, someday has finally come.
He brought me a miracle.
He brought me magic.
He brought me hope. And our story is only beginning because our love reaches far beyond these castle walls.
This is the start of the rest of our lives.
And I already know, our love story will live on forever.A/N: Finally we're at the end. It's been a long journey, with slow updates, but I wanna thank everyone for their support. I hope this last chapter was a good wrap up to the entire book, I tried to make it come full circle so there are little references to various previous chapters if you look into it. Thank you again for keeping up with this book and showing it so much love. I hope you enjoyed the ride.
