the alarm rang in her apartment. kennedy rolled over to find an extra body in her bed.

FUCK there was an extra body in her bed.

"joel wake the fuck it" kj shook the boy.

the boy groaned loudly before realizing the voice that was yelling at him.

"why am i here?" he jumped out of bed, scrambling to find his shoes.

"i don't know we must have gotten drunk off the wine or some shit" kj rubbed her head.

"did we have– ya know. did we do the stuff..."

"no joel i don't think we had sex"

"oh thank the Lord" joel placed his hands on his heart in relief.

"whatever ugly, you'd be lucky! anyways i gotta go open the studio so i'll see you there in a bit. lock the door on your way out please" kj threw her pillow at the boy.

she threw her hair up and put on a simple fit. she knew she'd change into her leotard when she got to the studio anyways.

"are you ready to see her again?" austin said in a low voice.

"who?" nick acted oblivious.

"kj stupid! we all know you told joel about the studio so stop pretending" zion jumped into the conversation.

nick rolled his eyes pretending the conversation hasn't just happened. the boys were currently on their way to the studio for the shoot.

the moment they arrived, nick felt the rush of emotions. he didn't know what he'd say to her when he finally saw her. he wasn't holding any grudge towards her, even though he should have after the way she talked to him when he just wanted to help.

"trinity!" austin yelled running up to her, giving her a big hug.

"why are you acting like you don't see her sneaking out of zions room at midnight?" nick teased.

"nicholas shut up" trinity gave him the look.

trinity and zion has begun to see each other exclusively. obviously no one had told kennedy, but she had her suspicions.

"so trinity, where's kj?" edwin asked.

"she should be around her somewhere, you know her, she never leaves" trinity smiled.

the gang walked into the video shoot room. yes you read correctly. the studio now had a room specifically for shooting music videos. that was one of the changes mr.johnson had made.

"kenny!" austin yelled as he saw the girl.

"still sticking to that nick name i see" kj stood up front fixing the wires on the ground.

austin embraced the girl into a tight hug.

"you can't let her get away that she say dumbass, she blocked us remember" zion rose his brow.

"i know and i'm sorry, i don't really have an explanation for that besides the fact that i'm stupid" kj said.

"welp, that's good enough for me. bring it in kenny" edwin opened his arms wide.

"same, i sort of miss her" brandon smiled joining in on the hug.

"uh i guess" zion sighed.

nick stood back with his hands in his pocket. the other boys got the hunt and quietly made their way away from the two.

"so i probably still owe you an apology right" kj smiled.

"honestly, i'm just happy to finally see you again" nick finally smiled.

the smile that she had for so long wanted to see. and it would have lasted longer if it wasn't for joel.

"ken, i got you some coffee" the friend said as he walked into the room.

nick looked over to see who had said it and his smile faded away.

"hey what's up man, how's it going?" joel greeted nick as he gave kj her cup of coffee.

"i'll see you later kj" nick threw up the peace sign.

joel gave kj a look of confusion. he and nick has been super cool until recently and he couldn't figure out why.

"thanks for the coffee" kj half smiled before walking away.

joel made his way over the the large group of boys who were huddled up in the middle of the room. ian was in the middle organizing the boys for the ending choreo. as the boys practiced their dance, a phone fell out of joel's pocket.

"dude i think your screen cracked" brandon said in alarm.

"fuck kj is gonna kill me?" joel bent down to pick up the phone.

"kj?" austin questioned.

"yeah she forgot it on her way out today and i brought it but i must've forgot to give it to her" joel rubbed the back of his head.

if nick's heart could drop any faster, it would release all of the songs brandon had stored on his laptop.

the thought of kj and joel together made him sick. but it slowly made sense. that's why they were so close. that's why they were so buddy buddy.

maybe that's all nick needed to get over her. but probably not.
