"okay so full couple mode or just friends?" hero asked kj as they stepped out of the car.

"friends but flirty" kj winked.

hero nodded and wrapped his arm around her shoulder as the two walked into the home of the party.

"yo, what's up ms.supermodel" edwin slurred.

"hey eddy, this is my friend hero"

"ohhh, you were serious about bringing him" his eyes became wide as he stared at the boy in front of him. "umm maybe don't go outside"

"why not?" she asked.

"well that's where nick is chillin so make your own choices" he pursed his lips before taking a sip out of his red solo cup.

hero gave kj a look, which weirdly enough just gave her reassurance. he let go of her for a second to pour some jack and coke into a cup for himself.

"so i guess i'm driving back?" kj laughed.

"let's go make some boy jealous" he laughed back.

the two walked into the backyard, that was even crazier than inside. there was people inside the trampoline jumping. two tables for beer pong were set up, and austin was fighting some random guy with his swords.

"kenny!" ansley yelled.

"hey babe, this is my friend–"

"hero fiennes tiffin, i'm familiar with–well you" ansley giggled nervously.

ansley was very entertained with hero, asking him a million questions. they would have kept talking if it wasn't for the ping pong ball that flew over and rolled onto his foot.

"oh shit sorry man" nick ran over to pick it up.

"no worries, i'm hero by the way. i'm here with kennedy" hero extended his hand out to shake.

all the joy that could probably be held by alcohol had now disappeared off of his face.

"i'm nick" he said angrily making zero eye contact.

"hey you got any room over at one of those table? maybe kj and i could play a quick game with you all" hero suggested.

kennedy's eyes became big, she didn't wanna play a game of beer pong against nick and zion. and she also wasn't the best.

"umm, austin and ansley were up next actually" nick rolled his eyes.

"oh it's okay they can go first" ansley smiled.

"great" hero smiled, grabbing kj's hand and pulling her across the table from zion and nick.

the tension was obvious but they all did their best to make it so un-hostile.

"so rules of the game are simple, you make it into the cup, the other team has to do the dare under the cup. if they don't do the dare then the other team gets a point. the team with the least amount of points has to jump into the pool fully clothed" zion explained.
