Thomas awoke in the same room from earlier, in the same bed. The only difference was the darkness of the outside shining in through the window.
He scrambled out of bed, making his way towards his window. Casually grabbing a sweater and joggers and throwing them on.
He made a dash out of the house, putting on his trainers next to the door. He ran along the street, out to where a blue jeep was parked.
Thomas recognised it, "Is that- mine?.." He felt around his pockets and pulled out some keys. Trying them in the lock, the door clicked open.
He slid into the drivers seat and turned on the ignition. He slammed the door shut and drove off, somehow navigating his way with ease.
Before he knew it, he had pulled up outside a house. Scott's house. He leapt out of his jeep and climbed over the trellis.
He climbed up onto the roof overlooking the porch, waiting. Somehow he knew Scott would come outside, and Thomas felt like a joke.
Thomas made his way over to what appeared to be the window looking into Scott's room. Scott was sat at his computer tapping away at something, Thomas couldn't see.
He knocked on the window and dove round the corner so he couldn't be seen. There was the creaking of wood, as a window was slid open. "Hello?.." Scott called out. Thomas remained silent, as Scott shut the window.
A few moments later there were footsteps on the porch below. Thomas readied himself near the edge of the roof.
When he knew Scott was close, he leant down so he was upside down, his face in front of Scott.
Scott stumbles backwards, "Dude! What are you doing?.." For a moment Thomas paused before something popped into his head. "The forest! I feel like a walk, let's go dude. There's nothing else to do."
Thomas suddenly felt faint, as though all the blood had rushed to his head- which it probably had. He heard a voice in his head, not where he was.
He recognised the voice, it was newt calling his name. He fell off the roof with a start, landing flat on his back with a wince. Scott crouched down next to him, "You okay?"
Thomas grumbled, "Scott..."
Thomas sat up suddenly, almost head-butting Scott. Who laughed and helped Thomas up. "You okay there buddy? You fell on your head a bit..."
Thomas shook his head, certain he had been hallucinating earlier on. He smacked the side of his head.
"Let's erm get going shall we?" Thomas spoke, casually pushing Scott towards the door to lock it.
Scott poked his head in the door and called out, "Mom I'm going out with Stiles, I'll be back in a bit! Have fun at work!"
He closed the door, not bothering to lock it Thomas realised. As his mom would be sure to leave soon.
They both climbed into the jeep and Thomas drove off. A short drive later they pulled up outside a large wall of trees, the forest was large in Beacon Hills.
Thomas cleared his throat, something in his mind screamed at him to turn back. He dismissed the feeling and followed Scott into the forest.
"Woah... It's kinda creepy here..." Thomas picked up a stick and spun it around, accidentally hitting himself in the head with it.
Thomas was a lot clumsier than usual. He wondered why as he followed after Scott.
Scott made a choking sort of noise. Thomas hurried over, "Dude what is it?.."
He looked at what Scott was staring at and felt bile rise up his throat. Thomas felt sick.Laying in front of them in the dirt and leaves was a body- half of one. The body had been ripped in half, the legs and feet were covered in mud and leaves.
Thomas jumped as Scott laid a hand on his shoulder. He spoke, his tone more serious than usual, given the circumstances. "Call your dad Stiles... He needs to see this."
Thomas pulled out his phone, realising his nickname must be Stiles. He like the nickname, but he also liked "Tommy" too.
He scrolled through his contacts and called the man who must be his dad, who answered quickly. "What Stiles? I'm busy..." Thomas gulped before answering. "I found a body- half of one... In the woods."
There was the sound of doors slamming on the other end of the phone and Thomas recognised the sound of a car being unlocked. His dad spoke. "Stay right there. I'm coming."
Five minutes later a car with bright headlights pulled up, the red and blue lights on the roof were flashing too.
A man stepped out of the car, dressed in green- the sheriff's uniform. Thomas decided to hide behind a tree as his dad approached the scene. The last thing he needed was a lecture, which he knew he wouldn't pay attention to. Thomas let out a yelp and a hand clamped down on his shoulder. Scott had clearly had the idea to hide too. Thomas looked up to see his dad standing behind him. An unreadable expression on his face.
"Hey dad..." He yelped again when he grabbed Thomas's ear and dragged him towards his jeep. His dad spoke. "I don't know how you found that and why you were out here, when you have a curfew Stiles. But right now I have better things to worry about. Now go home."
Thomas spoke, "But dad-" He was cut off by his dad. "No buts. Now." Thomas huffed in annoyance and climbed into his jeep.
He drove off, knowing Scott would get home safely. Thomas drove home and grabbed a sandwhich, which he picked it a little. Having little appetite, he pushed the plate aside and went into his room to sleep.
