The party
Essence's POV
After driving for about two hours, I felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. The Brobdingnagian, bustling city gradually broke down into calm tidy villages, then to vast green fields and into never ending rows of emerald pines.Soon enough an enormous campus came into view through the brush. As we drove in past the gates, I observed Raven and Destiny's eyes ignite like marveled children's.
The grounds of academy were immense. According to my research, it consisted of two dorm buildings, a gymnasium, an academic center, a library, shooting range, cafeteria, and a huge common area by the reception.
Surrounding the establishments, were vast gardens where some students lounged under the sun on the grass, some in the shadows of trees, while others scattered along the benches.
Even a brook ran across campus, separating the dormitories from the actual academy, a rustic wooden bridge connecting both sides.
_ "Woah" gaped Raven.

_ "Okay so I have some bad news for you" warned my brother as he lead us to the reception. "The maximum number of people in one room is two. So you can either share your bedroom with one other person or get a room on your own."
My friends and I exchange dispirited looks._ "I'll take the single person room, you guys share. We all know I like my alone time." I say chuckling in an attempt to reassure them. It's true. I do love my best friends, but I also value my personal space. They nod in apprehension. We each take our keys and head up with Ian to the dorms. Lucky for us, our rooms were across from each other.
_ "Welp that's where I leave you. If yal need anything I'm a call away alright?" Ian started walking opposite to where he had directed us to go.
_ "Wait where are you going?" Questions Destiny.
_ "As much as I'd like to stick around" a devilish smirk appears on his face, "the boy's and girl's dormatories are separate babe... they don't want us to get distracted... you know? I also have to warn you about the curfew. Every night at 10, the dorm monitors run a check on each dorm room. You are supposed to always keep it clean, you are not allowed to leave the dorm after 10, since each room has its own bathroom, and no boys are allowed in the girl's dorms and vice versa. But obviously if you're skilled enough this shouldn't a problem." He winks, walking away as one of his friends summons him.
_ "Too much rules... need sleep..." Raven drags herself to their room.
_ "Rest up. I'll come over to your room at 8 to prep, then we'll meet the guys at the gates." I inform Destiny before enter each of our rooms.
I unlock my door and step into the room. It was elegant and minimalistic. White walls were accentuated by the black wood of the closet and desk, as well as the black covers of a kingsized bed, and two gray pillows. In the middle of the room hung a simple yet intricate chandelier that was reflected upon the marble floor. Ceiling high window faced the woods and lit up the space, while a tree was almost protruding through the other, smaller window.
I took off my shoes and started unpacking, the carpet warming my toes.
After I was done with settling in, I took a shower and had a long ass nap, waking up to my alarm which I had set for 7:40.
I jumped out of bed, looking forward to the party. I then picked out a few outfit options and headed over to Destiny's and Raven's room. As soon as I got there, Destiny was already rummaging through her suitcases, as the song "Sour Diesel" by Zayn Malik played in the background. I was contemplating wearing casual ripped jeans and a t-shirt, since Ian said it would be a casual-ish kind of party. But Destiny our party sensay, explained to Raven and I that there's a huge difference between everyday casual and party casual. Party casual meant we wore something hot and alluring, but making it less fancy by wearing everyday sneakers with it for example. She also said that at this party, we were gonna leave our first impression, which is the most important one, and so we had to look flawless and not drink a lot. No one wanted to see us drunk...
