A symbol of power

Essence's POV
_ "Yeah I wasn't asking" I rolled my eyes at him despite his inability to see me.
"Ian we are having this sibling bonding day whether you like it or not."

_ "Did mom and dad make you do this?" He whines into the phone.

_ "No. We have a lot to discuss and some major catching up to do. I have the whole day already planned out. So stop being a whiny bitch already, we both know you don't mind us hanging out." I smirk evilly. I was gonna whoop my brother's ass for what he did to Destiny. A defeated sigh is heard from the other end of the line, and I know I've won this debate.

_ "Fine... I'll meet you at the entrance at 5." My brother finally gives in, and without giving me time to gloat, he hangs up.

I went about my day as I usually would. I had parkour, the art of seduction, shooting and hand to hand combat. After I finished all my classes, I met up with Destiny and Raven at the picnic tables outside the cafeteria.

_ "I'm leaving for a mission." Raven informs us as soon as she plops onto the bench, throwing her legs onto the table.

_ "When?" I ask before Destiny even had the time to process anything.

_ "Thursday morning." She shrugs, taking a bite out of her pizza slice. "I'm going to be gone for a week as-well, and no Destiny I can't tell you any more than that." Tiny's mouth immediately closes shut and she crosses her arms across her chest giving us a pout.
About half an hour later, I jog back to my room to take a quick shower and change out of the clothes I had been in all day. Not really worried about how I look, I threw on a random white tank top, a pair of old washed out jeans which I managed to make less loose by adding on a black belt, and ran out the door, already running a few minutes late.

As soon as I arrive to the academy's gates, I was greeted by a rather grumpy Ian.

_ "What took you so long?" He narrows his eyes at me.

_ "It takes time to look this good" I motion at myself, not willing to tell him that I was actually running late because of a gossip session I had with my friends.
Ian grimaces, looking like he had just smelt crap.

_ "What do you mean?" He retorts. "It looks like you just stumbled out of grandpa's closet."

_ "Oh shut up!" I swatted him on the back of his head, as he chuckled while I rolled my eyes trying to suppress the grin menacing to break out.

As soon as we got into my brother's car and started to drive, he asks:

_ "Where are we heading to schwester?"
I grinned at him slyly as he eyed me from the corner of his eye.

_ "You know that tattoo shop you got your ink at?" I begin cautiously. His eyes widen at my words.

_ "You didn't!" He exclaims.
