Essence's POV
I walk into the casino, pulling the cut on the side of my midnight blue dress up to reveal more of my leg. I scan the room, my eyes jumping from one table to another, searching for the one and only man. Once I spot him standing up and leaving one of the poker tables, I walk over to him, flipping my waist length hair over my shoulder._ "Hey handsome." I lay my hand on the irish man's chest allowing him to kiss my cheek.
_ "Hello go hálainn." He greets back. I take ahold of his tie, pulling him inches away from my face teasingly. Instead of kissing him, I tuck a stray strand of his blond hair behind his ear. He grabs my hand and kisses the back of it before untying his hair and tying it back into it's usual man bun.
(Translation: beautiful)_ "How did the game go? Did you win?" I ask as we lace our arms together and walk out of the poker room.
_ "No, I didn't." He says, his Irish accent seeping through his angered words.
I stop right there, and push him against the wall._ "How about I offer you another prize, Oisin baby." I whisper seductively in his ear. He licks his lips in response lowering his hands to my waist. "Let's go to the bathroom."
I take his hand and lead him to the gentlemen's bathroom, peeking my head through the door to make sure no one who shouldn't be there was present. When I made sure of it, I pulled him inside. One of the bathroom stalls door was closed, and I made sure to move right to that stall.
Unexpectedly, Oisin pins me against the walls, his lips attacking my bare neck.
Right then, the door of the bathroom stall swings open and Oisin was out cold on the floor.
_ "I've been wanting to do that for a while." Says Phoenix, looking at the body sprawled out on the floor.
_ "Trust me, me too. You think I like being kissed by other men?" I say, wiping off the area the Irish drug lord had kissed.
_ "You don't don't you." Phoenix smirked, pulling me into him, his lips hovering over mine. I close the distance between us and taste his minty lips on mine, my finger tracing over the slight stubble of his jaw.
_ "No, I don't. Now let's finish this mission." I say, pulling away much to my disdain and injecting the Irish man with poison.
"No one will suspect a thing." I say._ "Expect headlines by tomorrow: Irish drug lord found in a casino bathroom ODed on his own products."
_ "Mission 1 complete, now let's get 2 started." I say. "But first." I pause before one of the bathroom mirrors staring at the long mop of black hair hanging over my shoulders. I grab my dagger out of the holster on my thigh and hold it out to Phoenix.
"Would you do me the honors?" I smile at him._ "Anything for my dear fiancé." He smiles back at me, taking the knife out of my hand and with a few swift motions cutting off my hair till it hung over my shoulders again.
_ "Much better."
We walk out of the bathroom hand in hand and enter the poker room once again.
1 year ago I graduated valedictorian of TRAA, after having spent 2 years without Phoenix hanging out around campus. He had graduated two years prior to me, and was always busy on missions in different countries or running the school. His father had mostly passed down the academy to him, as he wanted to be there for his daughter's firsts. Anaïs had turned six now, and she was already a professional at hand to hand combat, and was a very persuasive little girl.
After I had finally graduated, Phoenix proposed to me that August and we were going to get married the next. We were now a power couple renowned in the world of assassins, just like we dreamt of six years back. To say this amber eyed man made me happy would be an understatement.
Destiny had now graduated fashion school and was working in one of the biggest fashion industries in America, while Ian continued to work along side my parents, but all the way in another state, since he had settled with Destiny in New York.
Meanwhile Raven had moved in with Myles after her grandfather unfortunately passed away, and was now creating variable bombs and poisons in laboratory of Myles's parents, while he sold those creations. They had their own business running.
_ "Zaffiro you okay?" Phoenix gently squeezed my hand.
_ "Yeah, yeah. Just got lost in my thoughts."
He nods, as he takes a seat at one of the poker tables, while I elegantly stand behind him, hands on his shoulders, staring down at his cards..My eyes land on our next target sitting parallel to Phoenix. He was a sleazy brown haired man, who was known for dealing drugs all over the Middle East. He had come here to perform a transaction with Oisin and his men, but unfortunately for him, that won't be happening.
Because none of them are making it out of this Casino alive.
I had been undercover for half a year now at the Irish cartel, keeping an eye on their every move and informing Phoenix about their next steps. I hated it there. I was one of the few women, and had to pretend to be interested in Oisin. I can't even count the times I barely managed to escape his grip when all he wanted from me was sex. I couldn't hit him or else I'd blow my cover, so I always had to come up with dumb excuses, which he always believed, or have Phoenix call me since he could hear everything through our ear pieces.
_ "Are you ready?" Whispers Phoenix.
_ "I was born ready." I whisper back.
Let the games begin...
