The timing is perfect. Great weather, it has been a rough week and this is a great time for me to get away from all the stress. The 45 minute fly I had today is the best from everything I had. I’m relaxed, no company to think about. I am wearing the jean that really makes me comfortable with my travels.
This vacation should be better if Mia was able to come but I can’t force her to choose this vacation over him meeting his brother that has been out of the country for the past 2 years. I’ll try to still enjoy this vacation because that’s what her request is on the note that she left for me.
A relaxing flight plus a free stay at a 5 star hotel is just perfect. I smiled to myself as the usherette of the hotel who is wearing a floral halter maxi dress with a sunflower on her ear lead the way to the villa where I’ll be staying. Yes Villa, you heard me right not a room but a villa.
It means that I’ll be staying at a luxurious house, away from the main hotel. I stopped at the view of a cozy semi glass covered white house that is like occupying a 300 square meter land area not including the garden. There is a pathway made of natural stone steps from the white wood fence gate to the glass sliding door (which is the main entrance to the villa).
The front part of the Villa is made up of glass where the run rays are welcome to give light to the whole living room that has a huge TV, a sofa and 2 beanbags.
The garden has a wood swing in the middle surrounded by tropical flowering plants, the perfect spot for lovers watching either the sunrise or sunset. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and just listened to the crashing of the waves.
As the usher and usherette left me, I decided to explore the villa. The walls are painted cream. There is a painting of lovers watching sunset by the beach that is hanging on the wall. The kitchen has a mini bar, microwave and coffee maker. It’s like a family has been living here before. This place made me feel comfortable even though this is my first time here. Or is it?
I climbed up the stairs to take a peek at the rooms. There are 2 rooms; both are painted white which is very minimal. The front part is also made up of glass to have a better view of the stars at night. Both have their own Veranda and bathroom. A sliding glass door separates the veranda from the room. The veranda is big enough to have a wooden beach chair, and a Jacuzzi surrounded by wood flooring and Orchids are hanged. Scented candles are scattered, ready to be lit for a more relaxing feel. The part of the veranda with the Jacuzzi is connected to the bathroom and is semi covered.
The queen sized bed is covered with white beddings that have two very soft pillows.
I opened the glass door of the veranda. The warm summer breeze brushed through my skin. I looked at afar while listening to the sound of the whisking wind and the way it causes the wind chimes to play their methodical song. I feel like the bad memories are being taken away by the waves each time they pull away from the shore, and the wind is reminding me that I am free to be myself right now.
The telephone on the side table near the bed rang so I ran to answer it.
“Ms. Montenegro, the lunch buffet is now being served and it will only be until 2:00 PM, would you like to have a room service instead?” the lady on the other line asked me politely.
I looked at my clock only to see that it is already 12:30.
“I’ll be there in a few. Thank you.” I said as I put down the phone and started getting ready.
I unpacked my things and put on my pink spaghetti strapped maxi dress, paired with my flip flop since it’s already lunch time and I need to go to the buffet area. I pulled my hair into a messy pony tail and put it my sunglasses. I grabbed pouch that has my phone and my access card to enter into the villa.
As I reached the buffet area, I can see that the line was too long so I decided to just go to the bar which is situated just outside the hotel building and just go in once the people have subsided.
“First time here?” the bartender asked.
“Uhm, yeah.” I said while choosing a drink to get in the menu when a voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Please give her a glass of mango shake and it’s on me.” The voice said.
“Thank you but you don’t really have to do that.” I said as I raised my head to look at the guy who paid my drink.
This guy is tall, he has a fair skin tone, and he has gray eyes that are like hypnotizing you and capturing my soul. His cheeks are burning red maybe because of the heat of the sun. His hair is wet and messy, it’s obvious that he just got out of the water.
I looked at him again. I can’t stop staring at him. I think I have seen him or even was with him before. His look is very familiar.
“Have we met before?” I asked feeling ashamed of what I did. It’s creepy; I know I just can’t stop myself from asking.
“Maybe in your past life or I MIGHT be your future.” He winked at me and smirked. He then looked at the sea.
The way he looks at the sea, shows that he is hurting inside and that he is a very calm man.
“It’s just the first time I saw you here. “ He smiled and looked at me. “You are the one staying at the Villa right?” he continued as he put down his drink.
“I guess so.” I asked as I sound frightened. That feeling you have when you are walking at night alone and it’s like someone is following you. I feel so nervous, not being over acting but this is the first time after a long time that I felt independent again and I don’t think I am able to handle it. “How did you know? Are you stalking me?” I tried to put a wider gap between the guy and me.
I know I should start being suspicious about this guy because, he obviously is following me but I don’t know why I feel so comfortable and safe with him beside me.
“By the way, there is a party tonight, wanna come?” He smiled at me.
I want to say no, but there is this something inside me urging me to say yes. I’m battling with myself again, but when our eyes met, I can’t hold myself from agreeing with him.
“Sure.” I said as I felt my cheeks burn.
“Good. I’ll pick you up at 6?” he asked as he stood up.
I just nodded.
“I’m sorry for being rude, Carlo by the way.” He said as he reached his hand for me to shake.
I took it and the sound of his name is starting to fill my head with questions.
