Craig
My parents returned about two hours after they left the house. They looked all churned up.
„Is everything alright?", I asked in my monotone voice.
They exchanged a look and shook their heads silently.
„Let's eat.", mom said.
We all silently ate out meals. My parents avoided our gazes. I just knew something was off. I offered after we ate to help my mother with the dishes but she declined my help. Instead she insisted that Tweek helps her. I was extremely confused.
„By the way mom and dad is it alright if Tweek stays a few days longer with us? His parents texted him tonight that they won't be back until january 6th."
„Wha... of course that's no problem sweetie. Now Tweek come help me with the dishes in the kitchen would you dear?", my mom flashed him a nervous smile.
„Of course Laura.", he answered also smiling absolutely clueless.„WHAT?!", I heard Tweek loudly ask.
He had been helping my mom for about half an hour now. Which was a pretty long time for dish washing.
I stood up and went to the kitchen. But before I could barge in my father laid his hand on my shoulder.
„Son, there's something you should know about Tweek. Your mother is talking to him about it now. Let's sit on the couch so we can talk.", he said very soft and calm.
I felt a shiver down my spine. Something was definitely wrong here. My dad never had talks with me. So this must be serious.
We sat down on the couch and my father was really nervous.
„Well son... your mother and I just discovered that Tweek is addicted."
„Woah dad... newflash Tweek's been addicted to coffee since forever. At least as long as he can remember.", I interrupted him.
He held a hand up: „We know Craig. But the reason he's addicted to the coffee is because his parents put drugs into it."
„You're joking right dad?", I starred at him in shock.
„I'm afraid I'm not son. We were just at McCormicks, you know Stuart has a methlab in his garden. He's the local dealer. So we just wanted to be sure that ‚bio sugar' Tweeks mom puts in his coffee isn't really meth. But it is. The Tweaks are customers from Stuart since a very long time. We don't know why they gave him the drugs but we won't rest until we found out. Please Craig just be understanding towards Tweek. We're sure he didn't know about the drugs.", a single tear dropped from m fathers face.
A wave of anger overcame me. I was angry at the Tweaks for drugging Tweek so long. But I also was angry at Tweek for not finding out. I know that I shouldn't think that, but at that moment I was just full of rage. But the moment Tweek stepped out of the kitchen we tears in his face and puffy eyes all of the anger vanished. I couldn't even imagine how betrayed he must feel by his own parents. Not that they were good parents in any ways. Tweek recently told me that he had to work sometimes until eleven at night and that most of the time when he couldn't hang out with me or the guys it was because he had to work there. But he didn't get paid for it. At all. I immediately strode over to him and pulled him into a hug. He just cried. I looked at my mom who also had swollen and red eyes from crying. Her dress was a bit wet from Tweeks tears. But they kept on streaming now on my NASA sweatshirt. I couldn't care less.
„Have you called his parents yet?", I asked my mom.
She shook her head.
„Tomorrow.", she whispered, „how about you boys go to your room Craig? I'll bring you both a hot chocolate up. With marshmallows as usual dear?"
I nodded: „Thank you mom."Tweek was resting next to me on my bed. He snuggled close to my chest. Still sobbing. I strode his hair gently and rubbed his back softly. A soft knock from the door startled Tweek. He slid completely under the sheets and I stood up.
„Come in mom.", I said.
Tricia entered my room with two hot cups.
„I'm not mom. But here's your hot chocolate.", she put both mugs in my hands and then went to my bed.
„Big bro?", she asked tapping at Tweek, „come on out. Please?"
Tweek removed the sheets his eyes were still red and puffy. His nose was running and he took a few handkerchiefs from my nightstand and blew his nose.
„H-hey Trish.", he said with a cracking voice.
She said nothing for a moment and than wrapped him into hug.
„I have no clue what's going on but I'm here for you Tweek.", she whispered.
I smiled at this. My little braty sister was being genuine and hugging my boyfriend. Even going so far as calling him her own brother. I couldn't help but smirk.
Tricia let go of Tweek and said: „If you need anything. You know where my room is. Bye."
„Thanks sis.", Tweek said cracking a smile for her.
I sat down next to him. I put one arm around his waist and he leaned at me.
„How are you feeling Tweek?", I asked.
„I feel like my whole life has been a lie. My parents poisoned me my whole life I mean how would you feel? I feel like falling down a deep spirale of hopelessness. I'm sorry Craig. I can't do this right now. I'm going for a walk."
He got emotional and ran out of my room.
„Tweek! Wait!", I got up and grabbed his wrist.
„Let go of me!", he yelled and tore his hand away from. Tears were streaming down his face as he grabbed his coat and slammed the door shut behind him.
I stood there flabbergasted, not knowing what to say. Or what to do.
