Chapter 6:

For as long as I could remember, I never woke up in a room like this.

It was beautiful.

It was rather basic, but the simplicity is what I'd admired.

I woke up facing a window, with a windowsill large enough to dine on, and a pretty little pot plant on the side.

The floors were faded wood, with a fluffy white run between the window and bed. Next to the bed was a white nightstand, with a creamy white nightlight standing proud.

The nightlight wasn't any ol' typical light. It looked like a piece of abstract art. The whole room itself, dawned a calming white aesthetic with the exception of the bed, which dawned a soothing grey.

This felt like luxury. A luxury that I knew I did not deserve.

I've been awake for what I assume to be around three hours, and in that period I thew up twice by just the thought of my last memories.

The sight of the knife lodged in his shoulder. The blood dripping down his face, and the look of deadly desperation when I pointed the gun at him.

Yet what's most pathetic about this whole ordeal was the reason for my sobbing.

At first it started off as a mourn for Tommy, then for his daughter and family... then I thought of myself, and I began to sob more. Not for the thought that I've killed a man. Not because I stood before death. No, but because I was on a bed...

Never in the past ten years have I thought I'd experience this luxury, and for that, I cried.

It was stupid.

Two more minutes, I promised myself.

Two more minutes, and then I'd stop with this pathetic sobs.

Two more minutes and I stop being weak.

And just like that, I did. I wipe away any trails of tears and pushed myself of the comfort of luxury, knowing full well that I may never experience it again.

I made my way to the door, second's before it could creep open. I was surprised, honestly.

A man strode in, clearly in his late twenties with the same uniform as the people from earlier.

"You're awake ma'am." I didn't know what to say, "I will inform master right away."

"W-wait," I called out before he could leave, "who are you? Why am I here?"

The man smiled. It was a pitiful smile, and then walked off.

I waited a few moments, until the sound of his footsteps faded away, then made my way down the same hall he'd gone through.

It was long, and followed the same theme as the one Soren had taken me through the last time.

The plush carpet silenced my footsteps and for that, I was thankful.

"Lacey." I yelped out of shock when I heard a firmilar voice. Soren.

Pictures of him with the sinister smile, and holding that torturous camera came into view. It let our an aura of reputation.

I tried to back away, only to collide with the wall of the hallway. Typical.

"Where are you going?" He tried to walk towards me but stopped when I flinched in response. That made his face hardin.

"Erebus wants you in his office.  Come" he gestured with a nod.

Erebus. That sadistic monster.

"No. Just let me go. Please. " I begged.

Soren sighed, "Okay, come." He gestured down the hall with a small nudge of his head.

I was taken back. Greatly. After all the fuss, he just gave in? It didn't seem right, but I wasn't going to risk it.

So I followed... skeptically.

Soren lead me to a door. It wasn't like a typical entrance. My doubts only grew.

"Its the back entrance. Do you think E will be okay with you just walking out the front door? "

It made sense... I hope. Or maybe it was just my mind trying to find a little hope.

Soren opened the door. There was no bright light of the day's star shining through.

"There's another door through here. Ladies first."

When I didn't budge he gave me a nudge. It wasn't hard, but the sudden movement was enough to get my legs to pass the door.

There wasnt any door on the other side. Nor sun.

In the other side stood darkness, staring at me from the corner of his wooden desk.

"I was wondering if I'd have to come and get her myself." He ignored me and spoke to Soren.

I didn't know that I was crying till I felt the bitter, saltiness in my mouth.

"How are you Lace?"

How are you?

How am I?

"How am I?" I whispered in disbelief, "how dare you ask me that you sadistic li-"

"I'd watch my tone Lace."

"Your threats became nothing to me the moment you showed me your true colors. You're a sadistic monster. "

Erebus tilted his head, "Prey tell, what gave it away. "

He was impossible. A sadistic little prick.

"You made me kill a man yesterday." I whispered out.

I wanted to leave, but Soren stood guard at the door.

Erebus stalked closer, with silent and precise footsteps and a cold, wicked glint in his eyes.

"But I didn't make you do anything, Lace." He teased.

The audacity of this man!

"He was an innocent man, and you tortured him, drained has life bit by bit, and taunted him."

All traces of light Erebus's eyes morphed into a terrifying darkness. The grey storm morphed into an emotionless night.

"That excuse of a man, " every word was cold and laced with venom, "was anything but innocent."

He stepped towards me with slow, precise footsteps and with every step forward, I stepped back.

"Bu- "

"That man who you called innocent was a rapist."

He stepped forward, I stepped back.

"He killed innocent people." Another step.

"The mother if his child, he kidnapped her and forced her to have his children." Another step.

"His daughter? He wanted her dead because she was a girl. Weak, defenseless, and just another bed warmer. "

Suddenly I couldn't step back anymore.

"Is that what you call innocent Lace?"

That bloody name again.

"I asked you a question Lacey." I couldn't move. Any slight movement would cause our bodies to come in contact.

"N-no." Damn that stutter.

"Mmmm" he reached his hand towards mine and too it in his.

"W-wha-" I was confused when he brought a ring to my finger.
I tried to pull away but hig grip only grew tighter.

"I have an offer for you, Lacey."
