Midnight Storm (Ateez)

Part 5

(Time skip 1month)

Celestial stands ankle deep in the lake, glazing her feet across the rocks and shells. San told her that if she could find any shells she likes he would make a bracelet with them for her. Her foot turns over a shell, the clear water giving a perfect view of the bluish inside that shined in the water. She crouches down to pick it up, the rocks making it difficult to move much since they're slippery causes her to fall. She holds her arms out to catch herself, when she stands she hisses in pain only now noticing that her palm and knee got scraped during the fall.

She gasps as she sees water traveling up her leg to her knee, enveloping the scrape. She runs her fingers over her knee as she watches the water heal her, the pain in her knee long gone as well as the scrape.

"Put your hand in the water." Turning around she sees Wooyoung, he smiles at her before stepping into the water with her. "You're the daughter of Poseidon, the water can heal you if you're injured."

She crouches down again, putting her fingertips in the water. Her eyes go wide as water travels up her fingers, onto her palm. "It's pretty cool isn't it?"

"I-I did that?" Her voice is shaken with shock, turning her hand over as she stands. She couldn't believe that the water could glide up her leg or hand just the heal her.

"You can do more than that actually, I'm going to try my best to teach you how to control your powers." Wooyoung holds his hand out, helping her out of the water and onto the grassy clearing beside it.

"Has anything ever happened? Something you can't explain, have you ever made water bend with just the thought or out of rage?" Celestial freezes, she has but she remembers doing much more than that.

(Flashback)

"Celestial honey why don't you go join Hwa in the water?" Amber sits beside her husband, they're situated on a blanket with an umbrella shielding them from the hot summer sun. They decided to take the kids to the beach today with it being so nice out.

"Those boys Hwa is playing with aren't nice mommy.. they call me mean names.."

Ambers gaze wonders to said boys, sending a strong glare towards them. "I'm sure Seonghwa will protect you sweetie, go have some fun you might even find some pretty shells to add to your collection!"

Celestial is hesitant to nod but does so anyways, walking towards her brother. When Seonghwa sees her he smiles brightly and motions her over to him, gathering some water in his hands to cool her down. "You're burning Celestial, I'm happy you came to join me."

As Seonghwa gently splashes water on her arms and back she notices the group of boys he was hanging out with coming over, she knew something bad was going to happen... she has tried to tell Seonghwa how mean they are to her but he would just brush it off.

"Well well well look what we have here boys~" the leader of the group is at least a foot taller than her, his blonde hair covering one of his honey toned eyes. She shrinks on the spot, hiding behind her brother to feel the slightest bit of safe.

"Seonghwa tell me how can you possibly stand her? She not your blood, look at her! She's not like us and never will be!"

The boys all laugh as Seonghwa tenses, "Leave her alone Minjae she's done nothing to any of you." His voice is steady but his tone is full of dominance, anger, and venom. He will be damned if they speak of his sister like this, she's not a bad person.

"It doesn't matter that she's not blood related to me she's still me sister."

Rolling his eyes Minjae walks closer to them, cracking his knuckles as he leans his head to the side. "Move out of the way Seonghwa."

Seonghwa shakes his head glaring at Minjae, she can barely register Amber calling out for her as she sees Seonghwa being thrown in the water. Her breathing becomes ragged as she watches Minjae walk towards her, two of the other boys holding Seonghwa back. Her legs are shaky as she steps back, the water going higher as she steps deeper into the ocean.

"You're a pretty one aren't ya? To bad you're not gonna look like that after I'm done with you!" Celestial gasps as she feels a hand wrap tightly around her throat, she can faintly hear her brother calling out to her. Tears of fear begin to leave her eyes as she squeezes them shut, she's prepared for the worse at this point.

Celestial is enveloped in the ocean, her cheek stinging with pain. When she resurfaces she places a shaky hand on her cheek only to pull it away, Minjae looking down at her with a disgusting smirk on his face.

He kneels in front of her, "I'm going to deal with your brother and then I'm coming back to finish you." Before he walks off he lands a painful kick to her stomach causing her to cry out in pain.

"Celestial!" Seonghwa struggles to get out of their grip, splashing water around as he tries to get out of their hold and to his sister.

"You deserve what's coming to you Seonghwa, we tried to get rid of her behind your back. We hoped we wouldn't have to get physical, but alas it seems it had to be that way."

Minjae lands a punch to Seonghwas jaw, Minjaes goons let him drop into the water as Minjae gets on top of him. Seonghwa tries his best to block the hits being thrown at him, fighting against him more and more.

"Leave my brother alone!!" As Celestial screams out the water around them begin to rise, the sea animals begin to gather around her. Minjae lands one final blow to Seonghwas eye, blood covering his knuckles as he stands. Celestial feels rage boiling inside of her, fish begin to swim towards Minjaes feet. He yelps when the fish start to bite at his ankles and feet, cowering in fear when he sees a shark stationed behind Celestial.

Minjae and his goons scramble away in fear, yelling out profanities as the knock people over in the process. Celestial runs to her brother, Seonghwa engulfing her in a bone crushing hug when she is in his arms safe and secure.

"Are you alright?" Celestial nods her head quickly, "You should be worried about yourself Hwa... you look horrible."

(End of flashback)

"I didn't know I was the one who did that... I was just go angry in that moment." Celestial whispers while looking back at the water, Wooyoung sends her a knowing smile.

"I know because I was the same way, my rage is the reason I found out I had these powers." Wooyoung looks around and sees a pair of eyes watching from a far, "You have someone watching you."

Celestial looks where he gestures locking eyes with San, she giggles when he turns away acting like he is looking for something when he got caught. "I think he's growing quiet fond of you Celestial, I've never seen him act like this. You've been here for almost a month and you've gotten to know all of us, but have you noticed that the one who is mainly with you is San?"

She nods her head, "Yes he's always by my side here recently, I rather enjoy his company though. He's very fun to be around."

Her eyes never leave San as she watches him start to make silly faces in the distance causing her to laugh, San smiles brightly when he sees her laugh. Wooyoung smiles at them, he makes a mental note to talk to Jongho to see if what he thinks will happen is correct or not.
