This was actually just a misunderstanding, Ae-Ra is good friends with Jennie. When she learned that Kai and Jennie were dating she couldn't be more happy, but when she learned on social media that they broke up from an unofficial source that clouded the facts very much. It had said that Kai had broken up with her which made her furious, making her ignore him. But a few weeks later she learned the truth and then they went back to talking to him, apologizing multiple times.
