There was nothing. I was surrounded by nothing: no breeze, no light -nothing. I couldn't figure out where I was or how much time had passed but I felt conscious even though there wasn't anything to be conscious of. It was surreal.

Things were slowly getting to me, I felt like I would go insane if I were faced with another second of this void. It was killing me. How could everything just not exist.

My mind was ticking like a bomb that no one knew would soon explode. I was about to scream in frustration when I heard something.

"Lizzy!"

The relief that came with gaining one of my senses back was euphoric, but at the same time it caused me to freeze. No one alive called me Lizzy. Who was calling me? The name brought on such a nostalgic feeling that it made me want to follow the voice.

I tried to move but I couldn't, it was like I didn't have a physical body to move. What was happening?

"Lizzy!"

There it was again. The voice. Why was it tormenting me.

"Lizzy!" I opened my eyes.

A blinding flash of light invaded my vision making it impossible for me to see straight.

"Hey Lizzy, you alright?" The voice was softer and more masculine now, it was a lot closer too.
Blinking away the tears that had glazed my eyes after being blinded, I shifted my gaze to the left where a figure stood, looking concerned.

Without answering, I turned my head to take in my surroundings. Replacing the void of nothing was my grandparents farm, it was empty yet serene. It was a nice kind of quiet where you could only hear the sounds of nature.

On the farm, there were no signs of any kind of humanity besides the person calling my name and my families house.

"Lizzy?" The man walked closer to me, probably wondering why I was standing in the middle of a field, staring blankly at nothing. Giving the man my attention, the first thing I noticed when he got closer were his baby blue eyes. They were eye's that I used to adore.

"...Beau?" I questioned, tilting my head to the side.

His eyes lit up as he came to stand right in front of me. I watched as he lifted his left hand up to my face where he caressed my cheek.

At first I leant in to experience the familiarity that came with his large hand. I expected to feel the cool metal of his wedding ring touch my face like it had a million times before -but it never came.

Flinching away, I grabbed his hand to examine it. There was no ring on his ring finger. Dropping it, I backed up, the feeling of wariness for him drowned me instantly; if he was my Beau, then where was his ring?

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Beau." Came his monotone response.

Neither one of us spoke after that, we just stood in silence. I was becoming more and more confused as to what was going on.
and
Groaning I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples, already on my way to having a headache. My eyes had been closed for no more than five seconds, yet everything had changed when I opened them.

Beau was gone and so was my families farm, but the scenery didn't quite change. I was still on a farm except this one was burnt to the ground. Corpses lined the ground, most weren't moving but some were clawing at the ground, pulling themselves along as if they weren't dead.
