Phil's first day back started off with him missing the bus. He woke up to seven texts from Daniel, asking why he wasn't on the yellow vehicle. He cussed at himself, he could already hear his mother asking him is this how you want to start your first day back? But, alas, he made his way into first period without a tardy - thank God.

The only thing he missed was the boy he woke up for, he hadn't gotten to see his constellation freckles or his winter cracked smile. Instead, he was greeted by his old English teacher scowling down at him while his hands rested under the 12-mile thick stack of homework he had to finish.

The time moved as if he was walking through straight jello. Lunch took way too long to get to and he knew that Dan wouldn't answer his texts during class: he was good like that. He always respected his mother and turned his assignments in on time. He never got suspended and he certainly would never punch the biggest jock in the whole school. He was smart, unlike Phil, who was certainly head over heels for a boy he just met a month ago.

The bell dismissing third hour rang after a century or two and Phil dashed from his seat, trying his hardest to keep his composure. With a dumb smile on his face, he texted the brunet back, asking if they could meet by the doors to go grab lunch, but just before he was able to send the message, he ran into a wall. Or rather, a wall named Nate, who's nose seemed to heal with only a slight curve. Nate took the phone from his hands in one swipe, grinning down at the boy who had previously knocked him out.

"How have you been, Philly? How's your nose feeling, huh?" He stood a few inches away from the inky haired boy, passing his phone over to the guys behind him. Nate stood no chance against Phil in height, but they were definitely head to head in muscle mass.

Phil rolled his eyes, determined not to let Nate ruin his good day. He pressed up against Nate, nose to nose, the way men did in the halls as if they were animals guarding territory. "Give it back," he said sternly, reaching behind the boy to try and grab the device from the two boys behind him.

The pair swung back, passing the phone between the two of them, giving Phil a mini heart attack as he couldn't reach it and fear the idiots would drop it. Suddenly, a figure came sprinting down the hall, reaching into the air at the perfect time and catching the phone between their hands. The two boys shouted, darting off after the figure. The boy running spun around, a wild smile on his coconut eyes as he shouted to Phil.

"Happy first day back!" Dan yelled, causing Phil to chuckle and sprint after him, along with Nate and the two boys.

Managing to escape the building in one piece, Dan and Phil sprint down the sidewalk just off campus, not stopping for air until they were at least a block down the road. The snow was coming down heavily now, they were supposed to get at least five inches overnight, winter was quickly approaching.

Phil barked out a laugh as Dan barrelled over in a fit, they grinned at each other as they calmed down. Dan stepped quickly, holding the older boy his neck as he pressed their lips together. Phil's hands quickly reached for Daniel's hips, bringing their hipbones together. They kissed under the white snow, the weather falling upon their heads like halos. When they pulled away, Phil's knuckles were red raw and Dan's lips were a peachy pink. They stood shoulder to shoulder as they walked for food, elbows bumping, hands touching.

Phil yearned to kiss Dan that way in the actual halls.
