Adrien was back at home where it was considered safe. He turned on his television trying to get his mind off of school. He understood why his father didn't want him to go to public school. Adrien felt that when he read Manga and watched Anime he was missing out. He could make friends, join a club, fall in love, or maybe start a rivalry.
Adrien watched the screen as a police officer with orange hair shouted orders at his fellow officers. "READY? FIRE!" The police officers fired at a stone monster. This monster seemed to feed off of the fire power.
The news channel turned to Mayor Bourgeois. "I'm asking all parisians to stay home until this situation is under control."
Adrien let out a groan. He didn't want another excuse to stay home. He noticed a box on his coffee table and assumed it held an item for his father's next fashion shoot. His father treated him less like a son and more like a display mannequin. Adrien did not understand why he needed to promote items when he left his house for fencing lessons, basketball, photoshoots, and modeling gigs.
The news cut to a scene of the reporter, Nadja Chamack. "As incredible as it seems, it's been confirmed that Paris is indeed being attacked by a supervillain. The police have been struggling to keep the situation under control."
Adrien opened the box, knowing that if he didn't wear whatever it was that his father, Gabriel wanted; he would cancel his fencing lessons and basketball practice. A bright green light appeared. Adrien saw a black ring with a bright green cat paw on it.
"It lights up. That's kinda tacky dad." He said as he pulled the ring from the box.
He tried it on and it changed to all silver. "How did it do that?" He asked as he poked the ring wondering if there was a way to change the color back."Don't ask me." A raspy masculine voice said startling Adrien. He turned his head and saw a two inch floating black cat. "Oooo shiny." It bolted to Adrien's fencing trophies and began to knock them over.
"No! Don't touch those! Come back here!"
The creature then notice an arcade controller on Adrien's computer desk. "Ohh! So shiny! Can you eat this?" The creature tried to bite the game arcade's joystick. "No, you can't. Ooh, what about this?"
Adrien managed to capture the creature in his hands. Out of breath from darting from one end to his room to the other several times. "What... are you?"
"I'm a kwami."
"Where did you come from?"
"I came from the ring. It's magic. I'm magic. I think."
"Like a genie?"
"Don't insult me, human." He said as he phased through Adrien's hands. "I grant powers not wishes."
"What type of powers?" Adrien asked for the only one he wanted was the power to stand up to his father.
"DESTRUCTION." The kwami said rubbing his paws? Stubs? "Do you have food? I'm starving."
"That doesn't seem like a very useful power."
"You want to get revenge? Because you could use it for that. Actually use it for that. I want to watch the world burn, again."
"Am I being pranked?" But he shook his head realizing his friends and family lacked a sense of humor.
"If anyone was being pranked it would be me. What type of wielder doesn't have food for their kwami? Its a unforgivable offense."
"I don't mean to offend you. What do you like to eat? I can have the cook bring something up."
"Camberet."
"The cheese? You don't want something else."
"Kid, I've lived a long time. Camberet is only food that can sooth my appetite."
Adrien pulled out his phone and texted the new part-time chef, Marlena Ceasire. The creature was fascinated with the phone screen. "You like my phone? Is it because you haven't seen one like this?"
The kwami laughed. "I've seen a phone before. Just wondering why you haven't turned on a cheese making video. My friend used to do that for me. She is amazing!"
"Can I meet her?" Adrien asked thinking that prehaps this creature's mysterious friend would have the answers to the million of questions he was thinking of.
"No. You can't tell her or anybody I exist."
"But she already knows of your existence so it wouldn't matter."
"She doesn't know YOU have the cat Miraculous and you can't tell her. Rules are rules. Protects you. Protects her."
"So this is called a Miraculous?" He said as he tried to take off the ring to study it but it wouldn't budge. "Why is it stuck?"
"You need true loves kiss to get off. I forgot to mention that earlier. Got a girl in mind?" The kwami floated over to Adrien desk and phased into the drawer pulling out some photographs.
The photographs contained pictures of Adrien and a dark haired girl and others contained pictures of him and a blonde girl both around the same age as him. "How about one of these?""Chloe? No, not a chance. Kagami, I don't know, maybe."
"Well the sooner you fall in love the sooner you can take the ring off until then you want to learn how to turn into superhero or supervillain or vilgile anti? Or maybe you want to be a villain then redeem yourself that would probably impress the angry looking one. Girls are into that."
The cook knocked one Adrien's door. "Adrien."
Adrien opened the door and thanked her for the plater of cheese. She added a few more cheese, dry crackers, and grapes. She explained to him the different cheeses then left to cook dinner.
The kwami was immediately drawn to the smell of Camberet gobbling it up. "I recommend you fall in love with her. That was perfection."
"She's old enough to be my mother. Matter of fact she has a daughter my age." Adrien said disgusted that this creature had even suggested such a thing. "How do you use the power of destruction? I need to destroy that thought from my mind."
"Say "Plagg, CLAWS OUT!"
"Plagg, CLAWS OUT!"
"No, wait! I haven't finished eating!" The kwami was sucked up into the ring and with a flash Adrien was now decked out in a cat themed super suit. He ran into his bathroom to see what he looked like.
"Catwoman wished she looked this good." He said as he admired his cat eyes, ears, bell, and black mask. He nearly poked himself in the eye with his claws as he attempted to see if the mask would come off. "This is so cool!"
