July 2020

After filming the last episode, it all felt as if it only been a week. They say time flies when you're having fun, and they're actually right.

It was the day of the wrap party, and Jodie and I chilled in our trailer. I needed to ask her something really important.

'Jodie?' I asked casually, beginning to swing my legs against the bed.

'Hm?'

'Listen, I think you need to tell Chris about, you know, us. Dating. I mean, he's gonna find out sooner or later, so you might as well make it from you, right?'

I glanced at her. She was fiddling with a random hair clip by her thighs, completely unaware what I had just said.

'Er, Jodie?'

She quickly looked up.

'Yeah?'

'Were you even listening to me?'

'Course I was! Something about....what you're wearing tonight?'

'No! You can't avoid the subject. Just call him up, and tell him. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.'

Jodie was playing with the clip, head down.

'Jodie!!!'

'What?!'

'Listen to me!'

'Fine!'

I sighed and placed an arm on hers.

'You need to tell him. If you leave it, it won't go any better than it will if you do it right now. Here.' I took my phone from my pocket and handed it to her.

'Y/N....'

'Do it.'

I gave her a small smile and she returned it. She took my phone and stood up. 'See ya on the other side.'

Jodie disappeared into the toilet, leaving me sat, alone, on her bed. I suddenly noticed it smelt deliciously like chocolate. I inhaled it but abruptly stopped when she called.

'Doing it now.'

I could hear her muffled talking and a very faint male voice from the other end. There was a pause, a short burst of speak, and then the male voice escalated. So did Jodie's, and I eventually had to cover my ears.

I still heard the shouting, and then cursing, and more shouting. But it was soon over. She came out, face full of emotion and damp from potential tears.

'Done.' she choked.

I got up and hugged her as tightly as I possibly could. When we broke away, she smiled. 'Thank you.'

We sat on the bed again, holding hands. I wasn't telepathic, but I could tell Jodie and I were thinking the exact same thing. The media.

'Whittaker ditches husband for co-star in Doctor Who.'

'Heartbreak! Jodie and Chris no longer the dream team?'

'You'll never guess who Jodie Whittaker chooses over her own husband.'

I took a deep breath and brushed them away. That's the media for you. Making celebrities loves seem so important and dramatic, even though it happens everyday.

Jodie interrupted my confused thoughts.

'Y/N?'

'Hm?'

'Have you....have you ever loved anyone else before?'

I thought for a moment. Should I tell her? It was a high school sweetheart sort of thing, but we don't contact anymore. I turned to her.

'Yeah. I have.'

It was her turn to look. She raised her eyebrows in surprise too.

'I loved a girl once, when I was eleven. I went berserk over her. Honestly, I was a complete mess. I asked to carry her bags, to walk with her to classes. All the crazy stuff.'

'We became really, really close friends throughout Year 7 and into Year 8 we were still going strong. We then had a Christmas Dance, and I asked her. She said yes, and that was a night I'll never forget.'

'But just before Year 9, she moved miles and miles away. We eventually lost contact and that was that. Haven't seen her since.'

Jodie and I shared a soothing kiss and decided to get ready for tonight's dance. This was gonna be fun.

A/N: You may have noticed the main character has mentioned a previous lover. (Hint hint!) Prepare for some DRAMA guys!
