This is entirely a work of fiction, in particular, the species known as fan fiction. So I want to get certain things established.
First, Doctor Who, is entirely and 100% the province and property of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). In writing this, I make no claim whatsoever on the property of the BBC and fully and clearly acknowledge the copyright, trademark and ownership of the BBC in Doctor Who and related concepts or items, such as the Tardis, Gallifrey, etc.
By the same token, I acknowledge related copyrights, such as Terry Nation's interests in and rights to Daleks, Robert Holmes rights to Autons, Sontarans, Sarah Jane, etc., Malcolm Hulke's ownership and rights to Silurians, Draconians, etc.
David Burton, Paul Bernard, Barry Letts, Ian Levine, Michael Grade and others are all real people, and in particular, are people who have played public and prominent roles in the history of the Doctor Who television series. As public figures I am using them, without their permission, in a fictional story. If any of them are eventually aware of this and offended, then I certainly apologise, and will upon request withdraw or revise this story. In the meantime, I think that they are treated sympathetically and hope that they take it in good spirits.
As a work of fan fiction, infringing on the intellectual property of other parties, as well as the publicity or privacy rights of others, this is done for the purpose of satire, parody and we assert fair use and fair comment under the applicable Copyright laws. We neither make nor seek any commercial use.
As an alternate history, we draw heavily upon the real world. So there will be interludes where I give explanations and background. Hopefully these will be enjoyable.
Finally, I do assert copyright over the portions, components, and elements of the story which are not the prior property of the BBC and others, including underlying rights.
