Chapter One
Red x Green Fanfic
Errand

Red was one of those silent, aloof types. A lone wolf, if you will. That's what first attracted Green's attention that day. That, and Red's eyes. Bored, ruby hued eyes that seemed to dissect every move the brunet made with a simple glance.

Green was a mischievous, loud-mouthed person. That's what Red would tell anyone if they ever asked about the Pokémon Professor's grandson. Red always found it amusing to watch the emerald-eyed male. His actions were boisterous and he had such a quick temper that Red always found himself pressing down laughter. That was Green's most endearing feature: his personality, something so starkly different compared to Red's.

It was a simple visit back to Pallet Town that started it all. Red had taken a break from his training atop Mr. Silver, deciding to let his Pokémon rest at home while he went out and spoke to Professor Oak. That was his second reason for coming back home: the Pokémon professor had requested his presence and Red complied.

After dropping off his Poliwrath, Venusaur, Snorlax, Espeon, Aerodactyl and Pikachu with his doting mother, Red headed off to the lab. A five minute walk later he arrived, his hands stuffed into his pockets as he sauntered into the laboratory with a mysterious air.

The few assistants looked up, some being confused seeing as they were newly hired.

"Red!" One cried, smiling at the boy. Red nodded his head in greeting, glancing towards Oak's office then back to the assistant curiously.

The man nodded, waving a hand. "Go on, the professor's waiting for you."

Red nodded his thanks before padding over to the door, opening it silently and slipping into the room undetected. Red was slightly surprised at finding Green in there arguing with Professor Oak about something.

"And I refuse to spend my time with—!" Green was cut off as Red suddenly appeared on the couch beside him, one leg crossed over the other as he relaxed back into the couch.

Both the men jumped, staring at the black-haired boy in surprise. Finally, Green spoke. "When the hell did you get in here?!"

Red's eyes slowly shifted over the brunet, noticing he didn't have any Pokémon on him either.

Probably letting his little sister take care of them. Red thought.

"Five seconds ago." Was all Red answered with, his unused voice silky instead of rough and scratchy.

Green recoiled, his cheeks slightly pink for some reason. Red raised an eyebrow in confusion while Professor Oak was silently chuckling in the background, watching as his grandson's cheeks started turning a brighter red.

Green was confused as to why he was reacting this way. Blushing and everything was unlike him. Perhaps it was because Red had actually spoken, instead of just giving a head nod or a passing glance. And maybe it was because Red was so different compared to the rival he had been when they first started their journey. Instead of the cocky, loud, overconfident doofus he used to be, he was now the aloof, mysterious, silent Pokémon master.

Plus it could be the fact that Red's voice had finally matured in the time between their last meeting. Meaning this was the first time Green ever heard what Red sounded like as a matured male.

Red watched, amused, as Green sat in a stupor, thoughts no doubt racing through his head at a rapid pace. Red slowly turned his attention to Professor Oak, raising an eyebrow in question.

The old man sprung into action, a smile gracing his lips. "It's nice to see you, Red. Your mother and Green here sure were worried about you being up on Mount Silver."
