Memories

The next morning, the sky had cleared up and a bright sun greeted the two teens when they woke up. Green gained consciousness first, feeling uncomfortably hot and not knowing why.

Squinting open his eyes, all he saw was a mass of black….hair?

Eyes snapping all the way open, he slowly trailed his gaze up only to stop when it rested on Red’s sleeping face. He spasmed involuntarily, making the older boy grumble in his sleep and tighten his arms which Green just noticed was curled around his mid-section.

“What in the hell….?” He whispered, glancing down quickly to make sure they both had their clothes on, which they did. As the memories of what happened last night flooded back, Green’s face flushed different shades of red.

Chuckling, Red eyed the boy with a feeling of mischief that had not been present in quite a while. Leaning closer until their noses touched, Red spoke with half-lidded eyes and a quiet murmur.

“Am I turning you on, Green?”

“Y-you bastard.” Green growled; face flaming as he narrowed his emerald eyes. Red leaned closer, their faces an inch from each other’s as a grin lit up his features.

“That’s not an answer.”

“Shut up.” Green growled, emerald eyes narrowing to a glare. Shrugging, Red moved his head back but continued to try warming up the brunet. His teeth had stopped chattering now, and his skin was getting better, so Red was almost done teasing the younger male.

“Why are you doing this?” Green grumbled. Red blinked, looking down at the brunet innocently.

“You’re cold.”

Green sweatdropped, and irk mark appearing on his forehead. “And that gives you permission to make motherfucking sexual advances?!”

Red thought about it for a moment then shrugged, nodding. “Yeah.”

“I hate you.” Green mumbled, annoyance coating his tone.

“’Kay. Freeze then.”

Red went to get out of the sleeping bag, only to be hugged around the waist by a frowning Green. Looking down at the taller boy with a raised eyebrow, Red held back a smile. “Oh, don’t want me to leave then?”

“Shuddup. I’m still cold.” Green looked away with a small blush, his lips forming a pout.

Green held back the urge to facepalm at his actions the night before. He couldn’t believehe had done that.

Sighing, he started to try working his way out of the sleeping bag but before he could actually get out of Red’s grip, ruby red eyes had snapped open to stare at him groggily.

“Stop movin’, Green.” Red sighed, rubbing at his eyes tiredly. Green had frozen and he jumped at the sound of Red’s morning voice. Cheeks coloring, he looked away with a frown.

“Let go of me, you ass.”

Grunting, Red did as he was told and rolled over, closing his eyes yet again. Green’s eye twitched but he sighed in relief as he was able to get out of the sleeping bag.

“Why’d we land here?” Green questioned, returning his Charizard as he stood next to Red. They had finally managed to get to Sandgem Town and Red had landed across town in front of a small café.

Pointing ahead, Red headed into the café, making the brunet sweatdrop. The growling of his stomach made him follow the older male however, much to Green’s annoyance.

Sitting down across from his friend at one of the small tables, Green smiled at the young waitress that greeted them practically immediately. Her eyes were darting from Red to Green and back again, obviously memorizing both of their features.

Red barely paid attention to the purple-haired girl, his ruby colored eyes skimming over the desserts. Ignoring the light conversation that Green and the girl had started as Green asked about some type of food, Red stared between the cherry cheesecake and the fried Oreos.

Turning the page, his eyes lit up at the sight of more delicious looking desserts in the form of banana pudding, a hot fudge sundae and even about twenty chocolate covered strawberries.

Red could practically feel himself drooling.

“Uh….Red? You alright?” Green questioned, raising an eyebrow at the sight of his friend. He was staring at the menu wide-eyed and Green suspected that drool was coming out of the side of his mouth. The waitress looked at the boy oddly, holding up her pad and pen.

“I’m guessing you want to order?”

Red shook himself out of his food-induced stupor and started naming things off quickly, knowing he had enough money to pay for it all on his debit card. The waitress wrote everything done with wide eyes, surprised at the large order of sweets.

Green sweatdropped, knowing it had been a weakness of Red’s ever since he was little. Sighing, Green gave his infinitely smaller order to the girl with an apologetic smile. As she left – no doubt overwhelmed – Green looked at Red with a curious expression.

“I’m guessing you haven’t had sweets in a while.”

“I’ve been on Mount Silver.” Red replied in a ‘duh’ tone, making Green scowl and his cheeks to color faintly. Huffing, he crossed his arms and looked away.

“That was your choice.”

Red stared at the brunet for a moment before giving him a small smile. “You know, I had meant to tell you. But you had just become the Viridian Gym leader and….” Red shrugged.

Green turned his emerald eyes to his friend and scoffed. “That’s no excuse.”

“I didn’t want to spoil your good mood.” Red raised an eyebrow.

Green’s eyes narrowed and an irk mark found its way onto the back of his head. ‘Didn’t want to spoil your good mood’?! Is he fucking serious?! He’s ruined tons of good—

“Here you are! I’ll be back soon with the rest!” The waitress came over cheerily while holding a platter with Red’s strawberries and cheesecake along with his soda. Green’s burger and fries along with his soda was also balanced on it and the waitress quickly set them on the table before heading back to the kitchen for the rest of the food.

Red’s eyes had changed from the happy light they had once reflected. He stared at Green seriously, knowing exactly where his thoughts had been heading. Looking away, he took a bite from a strawberry.

“We’ll talk about that tonight.”

Green’s eyes narrowed but he accepted the request/order. He didn’t want to start screaming at the black-haired male and gather everyone’s attention.

“Tonight, then.”
