Ukraine P.O.V

I woke up and stretched. The last days of the school year were coming soon, then we'd have a lot of free time to do whatever we wanted. Today was a weekend, but soon we would have a whole month or so off.

I walk down the stairs and plop down on the couch. It was just another normal day.

...

...Why do I feel like something is off?

I looked around, nothing is wrong with the house. Excluding dad, I'm the first one to wake up like always. My phone is with me, there's nothing cooking in the kitchen and I have no homework.

I shake my head, my mind is probably just playing tricks on me. I did just wake up, after all. Maybe using my phone will help me focus a bit.

I on and scroll through different apps. I still can't shake the feeling that something is seriously wrong. But what? The house is fine, I'm fine, everybody else is fine...

Everybody else.

I stood up so quickly that I felt dizzy. After the dizziness passed, I ran up the stairs. 'Everybody else' could be anybody, my siblings included.

I open Belarus's door in one swift movement, stopping myself from slamming the door open last minute when I saw that she was still sound asleep. I heaved a sigh of relief. Belarus was alright. Russia was probably fine too, I just had to check to get this feeling off my chest.

Feeling a little more relaxed, I open the door without using any extra force. Russia would still be in his bed, sleeping snuggly.

Except he wasn't. It was much, much worse.

His bed was a mess and the window to his room was shattered. I don't know what had happened, but I could make a guess which I didn't like. Maybe there was another explanation. I tried thinking of another but nothing came to mind.

My heart began racing. No, this couldn't be happening. Where was Russia? What has happening to him? Was he scared? Was he hurt?

Was he alive?

Third P.O.V

These thoughts caused Ukraine to panic. Although Belarus's door was nearer and she ought to know as well, Ukraine rushed to his father's room. He wasn't exactly thinking straight.

Ukraine burst into the room without knocking, something that USSR always told his children not to do. USSR was about to scold Ukraine about how he should knock before entering but didn't when he saw how heavily he was panting and his alarmed expression.

Ukraine ran next to where his father was seated in front of a desk with tons of papers. "Dad I, he, don't know, gone-" "Relax, Ukraine, relax. You can't tell me anything intelligible if you are unable to form a proper sentence." USSR told him in a gentle yet firm voice as he put both hands on Ukraine's shoulders.

Ukraine breathed in and out and slowly but surely, he began to calm down. "There. Now can you tell me what has gotten you so worked up?" USSR asked, sounding slightly concerned, leaving one of his hands on his son's shoulders. Ukraine tried his very best not to become overwrought again as he told USSR what he had saw, "I woke up just now and felt that something was wrong. After the feeling didn't go away, I decided to check on Belarus and Russia and..." Ukraine inhaled sharply. "I... I saw..."

USSR rubbed Ukraine's shoulder gently. "There's no rush, take your time." He smiled. Little did he know, he wouldn't be smiling for much longer. "I saw Russia's bed in a mess and... and his window was shattered." Ukraine said shakily.

USSR immediately stood up. "What?" He asked, as if he thought Ukraine was pulling his leg. "He's... He's gone. I don't know where he is or how he i-" before Ukraine could finish, USSR dashed to Russia's room. His eyes widened at the sight before him.
