After doing some research and seeing that this is inaccurate, I found that I should probably explain that if a country 13 or older commits a serious crime, they will be sent to prison or possibly sentenced to death.
Nonsense, I know, but that's all I can come up with :P
Five years later...
Third P.O.V
Canada walked out the gates of the prison. Finally, after five years, he was a free man again. He had a rough time in there, he sure didn't want to head back.
He took a moment to just stare at the sky. He couldn't remember the last time he saw it.
Or his friends and family.
Just thinking about them made him want to run and hide, he felt too ashamed to face them again. After all the things he's done, they probably hate him more than ever.
But his days of hiding in the prison were over, he knew he needed to do this.
Over the course of five long years, he had gotten the help he needed and was now a better man. He knew what he did was wrong and he needed to apologise fix his relationships.
Hesitantly, he took the first step. Then the second, then the third, and so on. Each step made his heart beat faster, knowing what awaited him. What if they didn't forgive him? What if he said something wrong? What if he ends up becoming abandoned?
He kept thinking of all the ways it could go wrong, how it could turn his entire world upside down. He almost walked right past Germany's and Poland's house.
If he walked further down the path, he would reach his own home and Russia's house.
Canada froze when he realised whose house he was in front of. It felt as if there were people staring at him, judging him.
He could still turn back and maybe run away to some other town. He didn't want to face them again.
Canada gulped. He knew that wasn't an option.
With every bit of courage he had, he walked up to Germany's door. He stared at the door for a couple of seconds before knocking on it.
Not long after, the door opened. Germany's eyes widened and he nearly dropped the cup of coffee he was holding. "Canada? Is that... You?" Canada nodded, unable to bring himself to speak.
Germany was in pure shock. He hadn't seen Canada in five years, he took a moment to just stare him, taking in everything new. He had grown taller over the years and he had become noticeably skinnier. Other than that, it was the same Canada from all those years ago.
Canada did the same to Germany. Aside from his height, Germany hadn't changed much. The only other difference was that his glasses were gone. Canada figured he had switched to contact lenses.
After a moment passed for Germany to take it all in, he decided to try and talk to Canada. "It's... Been a while, hasn't it? Since you... Left..." You could hear the unease in Germany's voice, it sounded as if talking to Canada was the last thing he wanted to do.
Canada's heart sunk, he was right after all. They hated him and probably never wanted him back in the first place.
Guilt.
"I'm... I'm so sorry... I know what I've done is horrendous. I was selfish. I wish you could forgive me, but if you can't, I understand. I haven't exactly forgiven myself." Canada's head hung low, he felt like he wanted to cry. He fucked up so badly two years ago, even a stranger wouldn't forgive him.
