81.) Scopophobia

You sit there in class,
Silently
Just doing what you're told and writing things down
Darn it, why did I bring this shiny diamond fancy little pen
Is what you think to yourself as you hide that up your sleeve
Oh there's a stupid little gem
On that pen
You wished it wasn't so darn fancy
Or eye-catchy
Attention - No, I don't want it
No, I don't want it,
No, I don't want it,
Make it go away
Please don't look at me, you think
But you're just being paranoid
Do you know that you're being paranoid?
Everyone only cares about themselves When they're there in the moment
No one really cares
So shut up and stop being so
Scopophobic
Yes, I don't care if that's not a word
It just seems obscured
Yet I remember feeling that too
Ugh, I wish I was a ghost sometimes
Why do I have to be right at the front of the classroom
Then I remember that time
That cursed time
Where I had to stand up
In front of everybody
I looked at them all
So many faces
So many darn faces!
Uh-oh,
Here I go,
Stuttering with all of my 'Umm's
Oh-no,
There I go,
My mouth starts to get really dry and I almost get shaky
This doesn't make any sense
makes no sense to me
It's so obscured
Being scopobopic
And I know that's an exaggeration
And it is
But that's how I felt
Back then
Uh-oh,
There you go,
Stuttering with all of your 'like's
Oh-no
There they go,
Your mouth starts to get dry and you get a little quaky
Here
Come sit down
See?
I know you feel better now
Your confused as to what that was
Yeah, yeah,
So am I
It doesn't last long but it might just be
Stage-fright
Yeah, yeah,
It won't last forever,
Nothing ever does
'Cause everything meets its demise in the end
No, no,
Nothing lasts forever
I mean,
We'll all die
Along with everything else
In the end
