🕯26.) Bad Idea🕯

I've got a bad idea,
so don't you dare come near,
my mind is filled with fear,
fear eventually evokes a tear
or two.

It's risky, dangerous, reckless, mind you,
don't think I thought it through,
it involves me and that crew,
includes green grass and the sky when it's blue.

We're going through with it anyway,
because we can't think of another way,
hoping it doesn't fail today,
because then we'd have to try it another day;
new.

Set in the field; a firm scarecrow.
Those hawks are poisonous and wild you know,
from a distance, just watch from the window,
and listen to the wind blow,
the view.

I have my lantern close by,
now it's dark as it is night.
inside my lantern; flickering candlelight,
hope this scarecrow will give the crows a fright,
don't want a zoo.

To our shock they came out of nowhere,
inside their dark eyes were an ember flare.
No - they wouldn't dare!
Yes they would, as we watch them tare
the scarecrow into pieces, we glare.
they vanished; leaving little clue.

That was a bad idea!
They devoured it dear!
Their ruthlessness was clear!
From a distant apple tree it peers.
What did we, or it, do?
