I'm sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast and scrolling through TikTok when Jonah comes walking in the door. He sits down at the table with his fresh Starbucks in hand. He has an eager smile, I already know what he's going to say.

"No." I say glimpsing up at him taking a sip of my milk.

"You don't even know what I'm going to say!" He defends himself keeping his grin.

"Okay then, how about: you need to move on? I've got the perfect girl!" I say happily then dropping back to my tired morning self.

"But I do! She's so perfect for you!" He says leaning in.

"Good lord, will you drop it? I loved Gabby, I fucked up. I can't fix it and I don't wanna hurt anyone else." I say.

"Jack, none of this is your fault. Gabby knew what she was getting into. It's not your fault. None of this was your fault." Jonah tells me getting serious for a moment. I think about his words and really take them in.

"Fine." I groan reluctantly, but also taking his words to heart at the same time.

"YES!" He stands up yelling and doing a little dance.

"Shhh, you'll wake lavender!" I partially whisper yell at him standing up, leaning over the table. We look in the direction of her door and wait for her to cry but she doesn't. Jonah continues his happy dance and I sit down again and roll my eyes with a grin at how stupid he looks right now.

Once he calms down a bit, he sits down at the table with me. "I've known her for forever and she's single and she's a dancer, and she likes seals, and she lo-"

"Calm down Jonah. You don't have to convince me anymore." I tell him letting out a slight laugh.

He nods and types on his phone. "How does today at 2 work?" He says typing on his phone.

"My baby shift is at 2." I remind him.

"I'll cover it." He tells me.

"Okay then. 2pm." I nod. He dramatically presses a button on his phone. I see Jonah so happy and wonder if I will ever be.
