Don't Blame Yourself

(Bella is now 5 months pregnant)

"So, you still haven't told your parents your having triplets?" Gabby asks me as she switches her turn signal on.

"No, but I'm far along in now that I'm not worried about loosing any of the babies. We're going to call them and tell them tomorrow." I tell her.

"Girl, I have no idea how you're doing this." She chuckles as she makes the turn.

"Jack and you. If not for you two, I wouldn't have been able to do this." I say looking up from my phone. Gabby's phone starts to ring, which earlier had fallen in between the seat and console. She starts to reach for it.

"Gabby, let me get it." I say trying to pull her hand out so I could get to her phone.

"No, I almost got it." She says.

"GABBY!" I scream as I look up and find a semi headed right for us. I take hold of the steering wheel and try to swerve out of the way. But the driver of the semi had the same idea. The last thing I remember is screaming and a loud crash.

*Jack's POV*

I'm playing with Lavender at Jonah, Corbyn and Eben's house when I get a call.

"Hey Jonah, can you pick up the phone for me?" I say still playing with Lavender.

"Jack Avery's phone, Jonah speaking." I hear him say behind me. "Holy shit." He pauses and comes to me. "Jack, you might want to take it." I take the phone confused and Jonah takes Lavender from me.

"Mr. Avery?" I hear the voice on the other line ask.

"This is he." I respond, my heart dropping to my stomach.

"There's been an accident involving your girlfriend Bella Thomson." He starts.

He continues to tell me what hospital she's at, as well as Gabby. Gabby's parents have already been contacted and so have Bella's. I was the last to know. We're already in the car and headed to the hospital.

When we arrive I grab Lavender and run inside, the boys following closely behind.

"I'm looking for Bella Thomson." I say frantically to the lady at the front desk. She types into her computer and looks up at me.

"She's currently in surgery, but the girl she came in with is in the ER being treated." She tells me.

"Thank you." I say rushing to the ER to find Gabby. As we enter, I see Gabby sitting up and talking, but looking to be in a lot of pain, her arm also in a sling. "Gabby!" I shout as we get closer.

*Gabby's POV*

"Gabby!" I hear a familiar voice yell out. I look up and see Jack holding Lavender running to me with Eben, Corbyn and Jonah hot on there tails.

"I'm so glad you got here." I say.

"Of course. Are you okay?" He asks me giving me a quick hug on my side without a sling.

"I'll be okay, a couple cuts and bruises and a dislocated shoulder, but Bella got the worst of it." I tell him.

"How bad?" He asks holding back tears.

"I'm not a doctor, I couldn't say-" I start, but her cuts me off.

"How Bad?" He states again angrier. I reach for Lavender and he hands her over to me, I use my free hand to support Lavender on my lap.

"Really bad." I say.

"Jesus." He sighs, reaching his hands up to his hair and pulling on it. Jonah comes up behind him and puts his hand on his shoulder. "I should have gone to the appointment."

"Jack, you can't blame yourself." Eben says standing next to Jonah.

"But I do." Jack says.
