7 Months

Today I finally get to leave the hospital. It's been two months of poking and prodding. My jaw has finally healed and I'm free to leave. But I'll be back in 2 months to have my baby. My leg on the other hand was still in a cast. They said I would have about 3 or 4 more months with it all wrapped up.

So I still can't even go back to life at least semi-normal. This sucks. I can't teach because of my leg and even if I was able to it would be half-assed and online because of covid and i'm pregnant. I still can't even fucking talk properly. I mean, I can talk again but it sounds off. I don't even sound like myself anymore.

I've got a huge scar along my arm from where the glass had cut me. I've got a scar on my stomach from where they had to remove two of my children...that's the worst part about all of this. I had finally just accepted the fact I was going to have 3 children and then they were ripped away from me.

A nurse rolls me to the car in a wheel chair. The nurse teaches Jack how to get me in and out of the car. Once we both get in the car, I freeze as I'm buckling my seat belt. I hadn't been in a car since the accident.

"Jack, are you sure I can't stay a bit longer? I'm just worried about the baby and the stress on my body now that I'm not at the hospital?" I say as he shuts his car door.

"Bella, you heard the doctor. Just take it easy and I'll do the chores, you don't have to move around unless you have to or need to." He says starting the car.

"Are you sure?" I say as I feel my heart racing. My chest is getting tight and it's also getting hard to breathe.

"Yes, Bella I-" He starts but then he really looks at me.

*Jack's POV*

I really look at her and see that she's pale and gripping her seat belt as if it's the only thing keeping her alive. She looks so scared, I mean, I've seen her scared before, but not like this. I turn the car off and she looks a little relieved.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, turning my whole body to face her.

"I wanna go home, but," She starts and wipes a tear from her eye, not releasing the seat belt. "but not in this, I can't." I reach over and pull her into a hug. She sobs for a while and i just hold her until she calms down.

"How do you wanna go home?" I ask her in a low whisper, rubbing her back.

"Anything but a car." She tells me. I get an idea, not exactly a safe one, but an idea nonetheless.

"Are you okay to just sit here in the car with it off while I go make a phone call real quick?" I ask her, pulling away to grab my phone. She nods and mumbles a faint yes. I kiss her forehead before getting out of the car to call Jonah.

*Bella's POV*

Jack gets out of the car to find me another way home. I unbuckle my seat belt and breathe a little easier. I feel really bad, like I just keep making his life more difficult.

About an hour later, my ride arrives. Jonah pulls up in a white truck with black scribbles all over it. The rest of the boys in the bed of the truck.

"What the hell?" I say opening my car door and swinging both legs out of the car.

"Surprise!" They all yell as Jonah honks the horn twice. Jonah pulls around the parking lot and has the truck bed facing my side of the car. The boys all hop out of the truck and open the back of the truck bed. It's all decked out and looks comfortable as hell.

"For m'lady we have a 4 inch thick memory foam pad (ya know the type made for beds) covered with a light pink bed sheet." Zach says lifting up a blanket on top of it. "It's also attached to it, so it won't come flying off if you leave it back there."

"Then we have this custom made fuzzy grey blanket." Corbyn shows as he tucks it back under the make-shift foam mattress, as if he was making a real bed. "It's not really custom made, we got it from Target." I laugh a little at his self correction.

"Then up here we have five amazing pillows with actually custom made light pink and grey pillow cases with each of our names on it." Daniel points to each of their names on the pillows and I laugh.

Jonah finally gets out of the drivers side but with a step ladder. "And here we have a step ladder to help you get in. It was custom made by your dad." Jonah says placing it in front of the truck bed.

"And finally, the truck has been signed by a lot of people. Jimmy Falon, James Corden, Ellen Degeneres, and other well known people. Also friends, family, your students, and even some fans." Jack says.

"How did you do this in an hour?" I say stunned.

"We started this project a month and a half ago." Jonah says.

"Remember how you told me how badly you wanted to just lay in the back of a truck bed and just get away from the hospital and everything that was going on?" Jack asks me.

"Yeah, whenever I got really stressed as a kid my dad would take me out in the middle of nowhere and then we'd lay in the truck bed and he'd let me rant all I wanted." I say stunned Jack even remembered that.

"Well, that's what we did. But upgraded it a tad." Jack says. I start to tear up because I wasn't expecting this at all.

"Thank you guys, this really means a lot to me." I say trying not to cry.

"It's the least we could do, you mean a lot to Jack and your like family to us." Daniel says.

"Come here." I say standing up my one working foot. I use Jack as support as we have a group hug. After a minute or two we pull away.

"Alrighty, now it's time for your first ride." Jonah says.

Jack and Jonah take my arms and they help me get over to the step ladder. After a lot of work, I finally got into the truck bed. I crawl toward the pillows and get under the blanket.

"I will be your driver today. We can either go straight home or a million stops. I just gotta be home by 9." Daniel tells me as he closes the truck bed. Jack climbs on the left side and jumps in.

"Can we stop by in and out?" I ask as Jack gets under the covers as well.

"For sure!" Daniel says and runs around to the drivers side.

Me and Jack lay down as Daniel starts the car.

"I love you." I tell him.

"I love you too." He says.
