Chapter 7
Mixed bag case
Ian, Jennifer, and Lannan left for Marhom as soon as they could. When they reached there, they had a look into the footage of the CCTV cameras.
"So, when did they die Officer?" Ian asked the in-charge of Marhom, Sophia Robins
"At 8 pm sir. The officers in the police station told me that they were completely fine when they had given food to them at around 4 but after the next 4 hours, they suddenly die."
"You say that they were completely fine at 4 when they were given food so that opens us with 2 possibilities until we get the actual autopsy report."
"And what are they Ian?" asked Jennifer
"Okay, Lannan please tell us what are they. Consider this as a test" told Ian
"Uh-Uh Hmmm so let's see 2 possibilities. Let's say that either their food was poisoned or they were killed after 4"
"Way to go, Lannan, so what we can do right now is see the footage after 4 so could you please"
"Yeah sure, John could you play the footage for us?" said Sophia to John, in charge of the CCTV
All the footage started with all of them completely fine with no sign of death. After continuous forward and backward all one could see was 3 perfectly fine men sitting or sleeping for 4 hours and then suddenly falling to their deaths without any reactions but just falling back onto their chair or bunk.
"Well, looks like there's another disappointment. We can't do anything else but to go and investigate their rooms and find some clue."
When they reached the room, everything was fine there. The wooden floors, a fire burning at a distance and the chimney above it perfectly fine.
A disappointed trio went out of the rooms and told that all they could do was to tell nobody to enter the room.
Suddenly a lady of about 34 came and told Jennifer that the autopsy was over and she would be surprised to know the results.
While Jennifer must have been receiving the results, Ian fidgeted at the door to get them as soon as possible while Lannan was sitting on a chair. His palms on his eyes. Ian tried to do whatever he could to not get himself bored.
He saw a black cat walk on a railing, dogs searching for food in the garbage, a lady policeman eating her lunch. He had seen an exotic variety of events from cats walking to dogs eating rubbish. Whenever he would see someone doing something, he would ask what was happening as if they were all criminals.
Henry answered that he was not able to see clearly and Ariel had answered that she was thinking about her boyfriend.
"Ian, Ian you have to see this" shouted Jennifer
"What is it Jen?"
"Ian, those people died just like the people who died in the Lazam nuking. See this report."
And alas the case had become even more complicated. There were the same blood clots, red skin and heart failure in all of them and now every living soul who belonged to Lazam was dead and now the only hope they had was Abimbola Akachi the so-called best friend of Arthur. This case which started as a simple bombing case had now turned into a mixed bag of varieties.
Chapter 8
Bleed Lannan Bleed
It was the 10th of January now. Time was going out of Ian's hands like sand and there was nothing he could do. Absolutely nothing but visit Lazam and Marhom. Ian and Lannan were lying down on their beds when Ian said.
