Mystic Falls Police Station

Alaric Saltzman wakes up with a heavy gasp, supernaturally healed, in a fortified holding cell after he was shot by Dr. Meredith Fell herself at her own apartment when she was 'taking care' of him the previous night. The local AP History teacher, also part-time vampire hunter, is defensively talking to Sheriff Forbes, Damon and Rosie while he remains in the holding cell. Later on, he talks through the metal bars with them once again, "I didn't do it."

"You're arresting him for what this nut job Dr. Fell says?" Damon spoke.

"No, I'm detaining him. The cell is for his own good. You were shot; Dr. Fell used vampire blood to heal you." The respective sheriff informed the victim.

"Yeah, after she shot him herself." Rosie piped in with the known fact.

Alaric nods defensively, "It's true. Dr. Fell is the one who shot me."

"Because you came at her with a knife!" Sheriff Forbes added on.

"Yeah, with a knife I had found hidden in her things!" Alaric said defensively, hinting that the doctor probably stole the knife to be her weapon of choice.

"Are we going to ignore the part where he is one of the killer's victims? I mean, the guy was practically stabbed to death." Damon reminded them.

"Well, Dr. Fell suggested his wounds could have been self-inflicting." Sheriff Forbes rephrased as she shakes her head a little, remaining neutral on this.

Rosie looks at the sheriff after a scoff, "You think he stabbed himself?" Why would he, in his clearly right mind, do that to himself? Unless he's suicidal...

"Look, I think I don't know what to think. I've got nothing, except murder weapons from your stash and a respected member of a founding family pointing a very long finger." Sheriff Forbes announced rather clearly.

"She is setting me up. I'm being framed here!" The teacher considered.

The sheriff nods, "Well, that may be so, but I don't have any proof of that."

"Well then we'll find some." The young hybrid doppelgänger shrugs it off.

"No, just stay out of this, Rosie. You too, Damon. You both getting involved is only going to make matters worse." The sheriff warned the pair of friends.

Damon shakes his head a little in pure disbelief, "Listen, Liz--"

Liz interrupted him, "Don't make me put you in that cell with him!"

Not long afterward, Elena walks into the station after her morning jog with her blonde ex-boyfriend. Damon and Rosie walk up to her side by side.
