twenty-seven. the killer
Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan and Rosie's Bedroom
The rare vampire/banshee hybrid doppelgänger is sitting at the study desk, writing in her own journal in the unoccupied massive bedroom, 'She's been spiraling since her transition and at times I barely recognize her. She hates it, she hates being a vampire. She hates feeling like this. She doesn't want to feel like this. But now, for the first time in a while, there's hope. Somewhere in the world, there's a cure for vampires. To become human again. If I can get it, Elena can be human again. I can give her back her life. So, that's what I need to do. No matter what Klaus asks, no matter what lies I have to tell or secrets I have to keep, I'll do it. No matter what it takes.'
There are a few knocks on the open door of the bedroom to indicate her loyal vampire boyfriend, Stefan, standing at the doorway and she finishes up her writing as she looks up at him, smiling, "Hey. We have a problem." The four words he truly hates to tell her on a peaceful morning of the day when the lovely smile on her beautiful face turns into a frown at them.
Rosie shuts the leather-bound journal on the desk as she gets up from her seat in deeply clear concern of those four simple words, "What is it?"
"The hunter." Stefan dials an extremely familiar number on his cell phone and sets it on speakerphone for them, "How the hell did Connor escape?"
Her thick dark eyebrows furrow in pure confusion at this alarming new information, "I thought Klaus has his hybrids watching over him."
Klaus, who is somewhere in Brienno of Italy, wanders around an excavation dig site as he speaks on the phone with Rosie and Stefan, who are now on speaker phone together while there are many other people helping to dig up the sword, buried by Rebekah once, presumably all compelled by him, considering she buried the tool with her former lover Alexander's body at the location in which they promised to be married together at San Vittore.
"I'd blame my numbing incompetence, but pointing fingers isn't going to help me, you and your girlfriend are going to help me." The Original declared about the special hunter, who has the only map to get to the cure-- although the tattoo remains to develop the more he murdered vampires.
Rosie releases a shakily nervous sigh, "Well, he could be anywhere now." How are they going to search for him? Where do they even start to search?
"Think. He took the hybrid's head, which means he wants werewolf toxin."
"Which means he plans to stay in Mystic Falls to kill vampires." Rosie said; therefore, he wants to complete the tattoo after all to see the map for the cure. Although why does he need the cure for? Does he even need it? For what? For who? What do mortal, aging hunters like him need the cure for? Unless...he's doing this-- working for someone. Someone immortal? No?
