Mystic Falls Hospital

Rosie and Stefan walk into the hospital building to meet Damon. Police tape can be seen across a doorway and there are deputies in the reception area.

"You love birds just missed the doughnuts." Talk about police deputies.

"Yeah, I was with Elena, burning off a few thousand hate-filled calories. Rosie couldn't care less. What happened to you helping me?" Stefan asked.

"Help, yes. Prolong the inevitable? Waste of our time. Right, Princess?"

His brother quickly cuts in first, "Mm, you're avoiding. How unexpected."

"I'm not avoiding. Elena's only goal is to end Katherine's life, and that's not going to just magically disappear with pilates and a juice cleanse. Duh."

Rosie shushes the brothers firmly when Sheriff Forbes walks up to them.

"Rosie, thank you for coming." The young woman nods at her presence.

"Hey." The Kartwright hybrid smiles at her in a politely civilized manner.

"Hello to you too, Liz. Why were we invited?" Damon asked curiously.

"Well, the hospital has kept the blood banks empty ever since they were raided last month. We thought at the very least it would help keep the vampire population away." The Sheriff informed the supernatural trio.

"And it didn't?" Stefan guessed.

"See for yourself." The Sheriff leads them into a patient's privately medical room in which a lifeless body lies on a medical bed, its wrists bloodied.

"Whoa."

"There are four other victims in this wing, each one almost completely drained of blood. You think it's Silas?" Liz suspected the immortal.

"Or a doctor with some very questionable bedside manners." Damon said.

"Probably." The young hybrid amongst the supernatural trio replied to her.

"But five victims? That's a lot of blood, and it's not like he can take it with him." Sheriff Forbes listed out the puzzling clues for their detective work.

"Unless he's fueling up for something big." Stefan mentioned skeptically.

"Big? Any details would be helpful, considering I'm dealing with five grieving families out there and a psychic killer on the loose." Liz asked them.

"Silas wants Bonnie to do a spell to drop the veil from the other side." The young hybrid amongst the threesome simply informed her in a casual way.

The Sheriff shakes her head a little, "I have no idea what that means."

"It's an invisible wall that separates our plane from the plane of all dead supernatural creatures. Now, Silas wants that to go away so he can take the cure, die, and not have to spend an eternity in a supernatural purgatory." Damon simply explained to his human friend with a tight smile on his face.
