Amelia is laying on the ground with her legs propped on her bed. She throws up a hand and lets it hit the floor. "It really ain't that complicated." She says to Peter as he flips through the entire Offical Midtown Cheerleader Handbook."Cheerleaders must uphold high standards and stray from posting any profanity, violent, or otherwise disturbing pictures or quotes of any kind?" Peter questions.
"That's reasonable."
"Yeah, I get that." He agrees as he continues to read, eyes wide. "Cheerleaders must attend every practice, game, pep-rally, or meeting unless given twenty-four-hour notice with a reasonable cause such as; emergency family occurrences, emergency illness or injury, UIL events, authorized doctor visits? What does that even mean?"
Amelia sits up, resting her back against her bed. "The coach has to approve the doctor visit. If you think about all of it it's really not that hard."
"Yeah, but it's extreme," Peter stresses, setting the handbook down. "Half the cheerleaders don't even follow it."
Amelia raises her eyebrows, her forehead wrinkling. "If you were given a handbook, would you follow it?"
"I wouldn't even read it."
"Exactly. I only read it because I hate breaking rules." She crosses her arms.
Peter laughs as he sits in front of her, "You're too scared to go to the bathroom during lunch because you think they think your skipping," He laughs.
And just like that, they've strayed away from their topic.
"Which I'm not-"
"I wasn't finished!" Peter laughs again. "You can't walk past an AP without thinking you're out of dress code."
"They scare me," Amelia admits.
"Like elevators and heights, and strangely, pigeons."
"I have my reasons."
"Point is, you'll be the only one following those rules, and you need to relax a bit." He stands, holding out a hand for amelia. "Come on,"
"Where are we going?" Amelia asks as she stands up.
"It's a surprise.."
