The coffee slid over the rusted tabletop, making a home in Amelia's hands. "Plan on telling me now?" Preston asks as he plops down in the seat across from her. Amelia looks at her iced white mocha before saying something quietly. "I can't hear you," Preston frowns.

"Fine. Peter's being a donkey's behind." Amelia admits. "And he was acting weird today, but there's nothing I can do about it. Because we're both pleading the fifth."

Preston blinks. "I can-"

"No. You get too.... protective and feisty." Amelia admits. She cups her hands around her drink before deciding to take a sip. "And I'm sorry if I ain't spending enough time with y'all."

"It's alright, just... what's with that?"

"Dad, I guess..."

Amelia lies straight through her teeth. Theoretically, it was all about her dad, but at the same time, blaming her failure to be there for her brothers isn't her dads' fault.

"But that's not you, Melly. Your always the one to help everyone......" Preston takes a really long pause. "Want to talk about it?"

A random thought hit Amelia. What if Preston has powers, too? Think about it, what are the chances that a set of twins is born, and only one of them has powers?

"Has anything weird happened to you, lately?" Amelia blurts.

Preston blinks, taken back. "Apart from you? Not that I know of." It should be noted that at this moment, Preston is lying.

Amelia chokes on her coffee, which nearly spills out of her nose. "Rude." She scoffs. "Really?"

"Darn right. I don't lie." He takes a sip from his drink.

"That, right there? That was a lie. Ya just lied."

Preston pulls his lips into a thin line, with squinted eyes narrowing on Amelia. "Don't worry bout that," he tries to change the subject, "are you sure that's all that is buggin' ya? No more stayin' in your room or hiding secrets?"

"Nope," Amelia admits.

"Great. That makes it that much easier to solve things."

"Why?"

"Because I done paid for your coffee, that's why?" Preston jokes with spite. He grabs Amelia's coffee from her, which causes her to over-exaggerate a pout. It isn't until Amelia agrees to let Preston meddle in her problems that she gets her coffee back.

"Let's start with Peter."

Amelia rolls her eyes as she takes a long sip of her coffee-- she is going to need it.
