Amelia's knuckles slam against Peter's window viciously. Not only is it freezing cold out on the fire escape, and not only is the fire escape seven floors above the rock-hard cement, but Amelia urgently has to talk to Peter.
Yet he declines her window knock.
She tries to wrap her mind on why Peter won't let her in. He crawled up the building and into his room not but two minutes ago, so what's with all the waiting?
"Peter!" Amelia yells. "What in tarnation are you doing in there! Imma turn into an ice cube out he-" Amelia's voice drags out as Ned's face comes into the window's view. Her plans have been spoiled; she can't talk to Peter if Ned was there, too. The boy may be oblivious, but secret code can only go so far when it comes to talking about secret powers and identities.
Ned bares a smile on his face as he takes his time sliding the glass pane up its tracks. The very moment Amelia has the chance to crawl through, she takes it.
After nearly jumping in, Amelia shivers. The warmth of Peter's room quickly embarrasses Amelia as she stands sharply, arms hugging her as the cold's kiss mixes with the room temperature.
Amelia's eyes hoped around the room-- Lego's are spilled all over the floor, socks and other laundry litter the room, along with many textbooks and papers. Along with that mess, Peter stands shirtless.
Her eyes finally land on him.
Peter's cheeks flush red-- bright red-- the tips of his ears matching the embarrassed color on his face as he quickly grabs a shirt and covers himself with it.
Amelia pulls her lips into an awkward thin line as she looks away, her face glowing warmly. "Oh," She huffs, looking at the ground.
Peter, shocked and humiliated, turns to Ned sharply. "Ned! Why would you let her in-"
"Pardon me?" Amelia interjects, her eyes still staring at a wall.
"I was shirtless!"
"You still are,"
Ned cocks a smile at Amelia's comment before pointing at her to make a point. "Amelia was cold, plus she has a fear of heights. C'mon, Peter! You know that."
"But I was shirtless!"
"Pete, covering your front side with a shirt does not mean you have a shirt on." Amelia points out again, gesturing to how she can still see the sides of his torso, looking anywhere but at Peter's defined abs. "Not to mention, you're still wearin' boxers, and just that."
Peter rolls his eyes, ultimately looking down at his appearance. "That... that doesn't matter," He shakes off the girl's comment. "Look, you guys can't just bust into my room-"
