Alucard:
Its been a few weeks since Andersen joined our ranks, and from what I can tell, he is still the same, but with a small bonus. He now can do pyrokinesis and pyromancy. You rarely see him without a small ball of blue fire being tossed from one hand to the other, or without a small blue flame over his head. It had developed after a small run in with a vampire who was giving him a hard time about his looks, to where the small flame formed, then flared, turning bright orange with rage, a fire ball forming in his fist before he hit the vermin, frying it and killing it in the same swing. I saw him calm down, how he did, I don't know, but with how mad he had been, that really surprised me he didn't burn down the whole building.
Everyone was at home for the moment, Thorn and Alex were in the library, Thorn was reading, while Alex was scrying in the fireplace. He often did this when he was bored or wanted to spy on Iscariot without Sir Integra knowing about it. He's been practicing with it for days at this point, and has gotten fairly well at it, to where he can summon the fire to his hand, then use it as a small scrying flame for his pyromancy. He was even given a special blade, per his request, that could withstand the heat without getting cherry red or melting, and a special one was forged with a metal called Brimstien. It was a new metal that was found to be indestructible, and in tests with his fire, it never got to a point where the metal would bend, melt, or snap.
It was fashioned into a claymore, one that was similar in weight to his old bayonets, so he didn't have to figure out the new weight, and it was styled just like the ones from the old days, with a replaceable leather grip. The blade was engraved in Scots Gaelic, Thorn's request, that spelled out the name of the blade, the Teine Shard. The cross guard looked like a pair of dragon wings, with the pommel being a dragons head. The pommel was removable, and able to hold a small vial of poison or anything he wished to have it hold. Right now, I know it held a small shot of Thorn's blood. If he came back from a mission with a serious injury, she would feed him her blood, and it would heal him back to normal. I sat down next to Thorn, and saw she was reading a book about the history of American cults, and the impact they had. I worried about her when she read stuff like that, given how she was conceived and how she was raised.
" Thorn, fiica mea, should you really be reading that?"
" Just because I am the by product of a Romanian vampire cult, it doesn't mean I can't learn from the mistakes everyone else made. I'm not spiritual or religious in any damn way. In fact, by all accounts, I might not even ever get near anywhere close to what people call a heaven or paradise. I am the daughter of a former warlord now vampire king, and I'm dating a literal demon, and I was born into a cult where virgin sacrifice was a regular thing every full moon. I am by no means going anywhere nice and pretty."
" Every full moon, are you serious, love?"
" Once a month, a virgin would be sent to the vampires den and we never saw them again. They either joined their ranks or were killed. If you did return, it was as a ghoul and you were told to kill it, and send another, or risk having them run rampant in the commune, killing the innocent's family."
" That is terrifying."
" Says the man looking into fire spying on his old boss."
Alex went to rebuke, but fell flat with his words, a scowl forming on his face.
" Fuck you."
" Later."
I laughed a small bit, and pulled out a book of my own, and started recording the day's events. I started to journal again once I had found out about Thorn, and I always recorded every day as much as I could.
" Hey, Thorn, I was wondering, how did you acquire such a nickname?"
" Everyone called me a thorn in their side, so it kinda stuck after one foster mother couldn't pronounce my name and just called me Thorn. I liked it, made me sound super badass as a kid, and it sounded nicer than having someone butcher my name."
