Chapter 8:

“Are you sure Clara? It is a pretty elaborate plan…” Lucy wasn’t too thrilled with my idea but if it worked, it would work well.

“That’s the idea. One the school thinks we’re all thick as s**t and if the plans hard to follow, they won’t think we could think of something as clever as that. Two, if everyone participates, we won’t be the ones that get into trouble. Three, do I look like I could give a s**t. I want to get expelled in a sense. I could go to a better school and actually get something that resembles an education.” I said in a whisper. We were still on the bus and didn’t want the driver or any other passengers to overhear us. Not that there were a lot of people on the bus at two o’clock.

“What if it doesn’t work, Clara, be reasonable. We could get a lot worst than expelled. We could get a criminal record…” Gemma wasn’t too fond of the plan either.

“And we could just cause a lot of trouble and not get caught. We could get a criminal record for drinking but you still do it.” Everyone was being very boring. I was all up for getting pissed as soon as we got to Grahams but everyone else looked like they didn’t really want to.

“Go over the plan again.” Rosie didn’t dislike the idea, in fact she liked it but she was finding it a bit hard to follow.

“We superglue all of the classroom doors shut so no-one can get in. Then the school will call us all to the café or the gym or the café and the gym. We put a load of water balloons filled with paint in a big net on the ceiling. Someone releases them and everyone gets covered in paint. Then they call us all to the hall but we grease the floor so everyone falls over. It would so totally work. Think about it. They couldn’t track it back to us because we would be suspended. It would happen the day we come back so we would be as innocent as hell. We go there the night before and set it all up. They don’t have CCTV or movement sensors because it’s such a crappy school they can’t afford them. “

“But what if it doesn’t work? This could go way wrong Babe…” It annoyed me when Billy called me that to get me to change my mind.

“Getting pissed or having sex could go wrong but we still do it.” Why couldn’t these people get the idea! A lot of things could go wrong but we still do them! The chance of this going wrong is slim though. I would MAKE it work.

“I’m lovin’ the idea to be honest with you.” Of course Rosie would like the idea. We were really alike and that’s why we were best friends.

If we do it…”

“WHEN we do it…”

“SHUT UP CLARA! Think about what we could lose. Everyone would think of us as losers and we wouldn’t be able to show our faces at school again. We would lose of positions as head trouble makers and someone else would take it. You think life would be the same at school. Of course it wouldn’t! What if someone ratted us out? What if they worked out only us would cause such mass mayhem?” Shane was on the fence. He wanted to do it but he was think about the repercussions; he was right.

“Then we do something bigger and every one realises who’s in charge again. If they find out then we deny it! It isn’t hard! We could just act ignorant. Think about what people would say if it worked. All the kids would work out it was us but the teachers wouldn’t. We would go down in history! Everything we’ve done so far, someone else has done it first! This would be completely original! If it goes wrong, hey, I’ll take the blame if I have to. Trust me guys. Please?” It made a lot of sense in my head and I could tell everyone was coming round to the idea but…

“You think I could let you just take the blame? Are you mental? You’re right, if it goes right it will go really right but if it goes wrong, it could go really wrong.” Billy had to be the voice of reason now didn’t he!

“You don’t need to do it Billy…”

“Yeah I do! If you do it, I’ll do it with you! I love you Clara! I just don’t want this to go badly for you.” Billy was annoying but he was so sweet!

“There’s no reason it would go badly. Are we going to do it or not. Oh…hang on…” My phone had started ringing and I answered it without thinking.

“Hello?”

“YOU ARE IN SUCH BIG TROUBLE CLARA VARSITY JONES! YOU GOT SUSPENDED! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? WHY DID YOU PUNCH THE TEACHER? YOUR FATHER IS GOING TO KILL YOU WHEN YOU GET HOME! NOW YOU LISTEN TO ME YOUNG LADY…”

“Bye Mum.”

I put the phone down on her because I wasn’t planning on going home tonight. I would give my parents a night or two to cool off. Now I just needed a place to crash for the night.

“Shane, are you going home tonight?”

“HELL NO!” thought so.

“Billy do you still have that spare room?”

“HELL YEAH!” thought so.
