Nostalgia

Deep red like a thousand rubies
The wine shimmers in the glass
My eyes gazing at the artlike aesthetics of the evening's afterglow
And as the remaining weak sun rays disappear
And night's black colour replaces the sunset's red tones
My eyes wander over a star-
brightened nightsky

Which evokes memories of a wild past
Filled with the deep red of wine and sunsets
Passionate love and neverending kisses under the cover of night
Which keeps the secret of a fiery youth forever
Forbidden things, an adventurous soul's sins

I still have the pictures which tried to capture past
Red eyes and confused glances
When the evening's atmosphere lead us to drunk dances
The music made us do whatever we'd like to
And so my kisses on your neck were followed by an explosion of intense emotion
Our cheeks were red of the alcohol while we danced
As if in trance

Days did end somewhen
But nights lasted for eternity
And my heart was glowing from its inner fire
My soul was fierce and always aware of its beauty
They would laugh about our love
But we hovered eleven miles above
And never accepted coming down

It was a wild time
The wildest
But noone could tear us apart
Our love survived them all
- Until death carried you away

With a smile, the old woman takes the last sip of her deep red wine
And fights down the feelings of nostalgia which she feels coming up
With another smile she puts away the pictures and thinks:
It won't take too long until I finally see you again.
