People were everywhere. The entire auditorium was packed with people. Families cheered and greeted their newly graduated children.
"Zainub, smile for the camera!" Ummi holds up her black Nikon camera up to my face. Clicking noises are heard everywhere from the cameras. I try my best to force a smile. It's not like I'm not happy, I just wished I stayed with my Baba. His condition seemed to only get worse and worse. I prayed for him day and night, but none of my duas seemed to be any benefit. Asim suddenly thrusts a bouquet of daisies into my face.
"Umm, thank you Asim," I smile weakly at him.
"Your welcome Zainub!" Just as Asim is about to leave, Hussen walks over to me. His gown billowing behind him, his cap lopsided on his head, his famous crooked smile is plastered on his face.
"Congrats Zainub," His arm slips around my waist. As his arm makes contact with my waist, I tense up. Ge must have noticed, because he let his arm fall away and his face was a bit flushed.
"Congrats to you too Hussen." I smile weakly at him. He opens his arms for me to hug him. I love the way our hearts beat in unison, how my head reaches only his chest.
"Sooo, our wedding is next week," I says after a long pause of silence.
"Yup, I can't wait to see your hair!" Hussen says teasingly.
"That's all you want?! To see my hair! You're sooo pathetic!" I slap his arm playfully. I love how he doesn't get offended by my jokes, unlike some people *cough*Asim*cough*. Zaria, Khadijah, and Samia walk up to us.
"Asalamualakum! And congrats grad!" Samia says to me as she embraces me. My friends completely ignore Hussen's presence, as if he didn't exist.
"I um, better get going then," Hussen gives me a quick peck on the cheek and strides away to his friends.
"Ooohhh!!!" Khadijah wiggles her eyebrows at me. That triggers Samia and Zaria to do the same thing.
"What?!" I ask dumbfounded. They all make eye contact with each other and laugh really hard. "What?!" I repeat more frantic than before.
"You guys are just so cute Mashallah!" Zaria's says through her laughter. "I hope I have a husband like that Imshallah," She playfully sighs.

There are now two groups of graduates, one group goes to grad night, the other group goes home and sleeps. I'm apart of the group that goes home and sleeps. I stayed up watching Netflix with popcorn while everyone else in the house slept. Once I felt tired and was bored of the movies, I snuck upstairs to my room.
My room was as if a tornado hit. Clothes were thrown on the floor, hijabs scattered my bed and floor. You might be thinking I took my time to clean it up, you're wrong, I went straight to sleep. The bad thing was, I couldn't fall asleep, I couldn't stop thinking about my wedding that was happening next week. I also couldn't stop thinking about my father, he's been sick for a full month now. None of my duas still haven't been working, and I'm scared.
I wake up for Fajir, make wudo, pray then go and visit my dad.
"Baba?" I open the door a crack.
"How are you hubibti?" My father sounds healthy and he was sitting up!
"Oh Baba! I'm so happy you're feeling better!" I rush to his bedside and hug him. "Baba, my wedding is very soon and I'm kind of nervous," I say looking down.
"Yes, inshallah you will be a beautiful bride, and Inshallah you will have a wonderful life after your wedding. Oh and Zainub, I will be walking you down the aisle just as you've always wanted!" He beams down at me, I love my father with all of my heart, he knows me so well. When I was about six years old, I told him that I want him to walk me to Hussen, and place my hands into Hussen's. As if he were giving me to Hussen.

The next day we would be trying on our dresses for the last time before the wedding, my bridesmaids Zaria, Samia and Khady, their dresses would be a light coral pink, I couldn't wait for them to see their dresses. I wanted the dresses to be a surprise for them, I hope they would like them. The flower girl was my niece, Asia. She too would be wearing light coral dress, but hers would be covered in bows and ruffles.
It would be a beautiful wedding Inshallah!
