I sat in the car waiting for Hussen, Ummi and Baba. Baba was finally coming home after the long treacherous days he spent in the hospital. The car door suddenly opened to reveal my father looking a little weak, but healthy.
"Baba!' I jumped from the passenger seat to embrace my father.
"My little princess," He pulled away from my hug and took my hand in his own. "Look at you. You are no longer my little girl." Ummi came from behind Baba and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Lets get in the car inshallah, so we Hussen and Zainub can finally move in to their new house." I nodded my head, and went back into the car.
The car ride was filled with questions for Baba, we asked him how the doctors and treated him, about the food, and other things."Alhumdulillah, I was fine." Baba turns around to face me in the seat in back of him. His beautiful smile occupied majority of his face. My Baba was finally home.
The car stopped at the driveway of our house, well, my parents house to be exact. I rushed out from the back of the car and ran to help Baba get out of the car.
"La la(1), hubibti, I can get out of the car on my own inshallah(2)." Baba shooed me away with his hand. My mouth turned into to a fishy frown, making Hussen laugh as he carried Baba's bags to the front door.
"Stop laughing at me!" I growl at Hussen as Ummi places the key into the lock of the door. When we open the door, Asim is sitting on the couch reading Quran(3). Quite surprising....
"Asalamualakum(4) Asim." Ummi says to my younger brother. He quickly finishes the ayat(5) he was on, he then replies to our greeting.
"Baba?!" Asim jumps from his seat on the couch in shock and amazement.
"Did you not know that I was feeling better, hubibi(6)?" Baba chuckles at Asim's dumbfounded expression. Tears start trickling down Asim's face.
"Don't cry love, say Alhumdulillah(7) that your father is finally feeling better." Ummi goes over to Asim and hugs him, muffling his crying. All of this emotion happening all at once made me feel emotional myself.
"Hey, don't cry either." Hussen leans down to look at my face.
"I can't help myself," I choke out as I burry my face in his chest. His strong arms wrap around me, making me feel secure. I look up at my parents, who are now both hugging Asim. This is our family now.
